OK, I guess I mis-stated my question in my thread "running without mufflers".

What I meant to ask was.......Has anyone ran a FULL exhaust (pipe and cats all the way back to the rear bumper) with exception of having a pipe replacing the muffles?

If so, how did it run (mainly in the low RPM torque) and most importantly to me....how did it sound?

I apologize if I didn't use the proper wording. I, by NO means, want to run just pipe alone!

THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT!!!!!!!!!!!

you can scare old ladies in a ricer ...doesn't mean it sounds good.  it's all your own preference as to what YOU think sounds good...personally, i hate it...but that's just me.

And then again, it all depends on what car/vehicle had the mufflers cut off. Thinking about putting some mufflers on...maybe some magnaflows or the ever popular flowmasters. I just hated the supercharger whine...cheapest at the time was cutting off the mufflers. Took me two years to talk the significant other into getting me the car...don't think she would hedge on a $300 exhaust job on top of a 32k note..

Here's why I keep asking what may seem like a stupid question................

How bad can it sound when there is TWO cats on each side before the mufflers?

Back in "the day", we had V8's with headers, a pair of mufflers (one each side) and then tail pipes and they sounded GREAT. The two cats on each side of the exhaust have to quiet down the engine MUCH more than a pair of mufflers alone.

Am I right/wrong?

the mufflers is what gives the car that unike sound. the cats just quiet it done cause less air flow thru them.
