I'm seriously considering the Magnaflow Cat-Back exhaust system w/ Dual tips. I've seen a few signatures of members who have done this to the V6. I was wondering if they have any pics, videos or sound clips that can help me decide. Also, what do most of you all think about cutting the bumper vs. a new GT one or something else?

I have dual JBA's waiting to be installed. After talking to my bodyshop, we agreed on putting on a GT bumper, instead of cutting. He thought it would be no problem, but the cut could never match the original... as discerning an eye as I have, I think I'd always notice. They're going to paint and install next week.
I have seen pics of cut bumpers and they've looked quite good... but, a pic is never the same as seeing it live.
the angle of the portion cut is such that even a ragged cut is undiscernible unless you are looking directly at it while lying on the ground. but a GT bumper does look awesome.
Taking my car in Tuesday to have the GT bumper painted and installed. Saturday I'll install the duals. I'll post pics and a sound clip as soon as possible.
Not meaning to intrude on your thread but I have read on other sites that adding dual exhaust to the 6banger without tunes and such could actually lead to potential HP lose. Could someone explain if this is true in layman terms.....
I had the dealer install my duals to avoid any future issues. They had to cut both sides of my V6 bumper due to the larger tips I selected. You cannot tell it has been cut on either side. If you look at the photo in my sig, you can see the passenger side addition. I love the deeper sound note, even better after the first 1,000 miles. I have had no issues with back pressure or check engine lights. I will be adding a tune later this summer and look forward to taking full advantage of the CAI and ther duals at that time. Good luck either way you decide to go Andrew.

I went with true duals, Flowmaster 40's, installed by Meineke. (pics here)
I am really impressed. The only gripe I have is the occasional sputtering due to the fact I haven't tuned it yet. I also plan on adding the K&N 63-series FIPK that just came out.
I called Meineke here and they quoted me 320 to install true duals with an h-pipe. I'd have by the mufflers... I forgot to ask them about triming the rear bumper...
Sooo..
Did you have to beg them to trim it? Also, did they put some sort of cross-over on it? Forgive my ignorance, but is that causing the sputtering you noted...

Is $320 without the mufflers?? I'm assuming you meant you'd "have to buy" the mufflers, but I just wanted to be sure. I paid $480 for the Flowmasters and all the associated piping. They told me I could have an H-pipe installed if I brought it back, but they just didn't have time to finish before they closed and I didn't want to pick it up the next day. They told me it would cost $60 to install the H-pipe, whenever I wanted to bring it in. I figured after I get the intake in I'd drop it off.
I'm not sure exactly what causes the backfiring/popping. I think it's because of the lack of backpressure w/o more air coming in. When you put an intake in and tune the PCM, it goes away. The H-pipe could help, though... I've just heard it helps equalize pressure and gives a few extra HP.

Flapjack, I have the same thing. True duels no h or x pipe with flowmaster 40's. I dont have any popping or backfiring though and the only other mod I have is the mmr intake. By the way, I paid 315 total, including flowmasters and pipes and installation.

flapjack,
Sorry... I just realized my typing was terrible on that post... Got my kids climbing on my back while I'm trying to type on my laptop... Gotta love it...
You are correct... Without the mufflers... so it would be around 320 for the true duals (with h-pipe) + 150 for the mufflers for the entire deal... I was just wanting your all's opinion on that price...

The intake alone may be enough to compensate for the lack of backpressure. Come to think of it, even though I have a tuner for my Avalanche, I currently have it set up with the stock tune. When I first put the exhaust on, it sputtered and popped a bit until I got the intake installed.

That's a great price. Better than what I got. In fact, they told me after my work was done that the next person that wanted it done on this particular car would have to pay more. I guess it was a bit tougher than they expected it to be.
Don't worry about the typing. We just had our second kid on the 27th. She's no problem now, but before you know it she'll be climbing on my back just like my 2-yr old boy does!
