Mine will light 'em up just fine with no tune. I will be adding a tune very soon and can't wait to apply Don's technique along with my CAI and a new tune. Woohoo!
Thanks Chris, your's too. I went in determined to buy a red GT and they didn't have any GT's except the Rousch and Dale Jarrett special editions which were around $45K and the only V6's they had in red were the verts. I would up with what you see and could not be happier. When I add a red Cobra next summer (I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I make the cutoff anyway) I will have a nice set, one red and one black!

NCmustangMAN, could you explain how you did it with your v6?... and im gonna get the x-cal and remove the rev limiter...but in the mean time i wanna no how to light em up with out the x-cal

Something is not right... either you're holding the brake waaaay too hard, or you have some problem. Did the tires spin at all? Did you release pressure on the brake pedal as RPMs increased?

ummmm... just got back and did exactely what i was suposed to try a couple times. i hit the brake just to the point where we didnt start rolling. and nothing happened. I would hit the brake very lightly and hit the gas and just sit there for a second. and then slowly roll at about idle speed with foot on the floor and my foot softly on the brake, and NOTHING
i checked my rubbers on my 19" foose rims and there 255's
It's all about the brake pressure. You have to get the feel for how hard to hold it on the line which takes time. The first time I tried Don's technique I boiled them up so bad it made me laugh. The 2nd and 3rd time, nothing. Then I realized I was a little antsy from the first time and I had the brake peddle pressed a little too hard. Fourth time and forward has been smoke city! Keep trying, it will work I promise. I'm shopping for new tires already. Not much tread on these 45 profiles. I'm going with 50's or 55's next time.

Do you get both tires smoking? Or just one? The reason I ask is while I was at JBA Racing this morning, I saw a guy do a burnout in an 05 V6, and he only had one tire smoking. Does the V6 have traction-lock like the GT?

Only one Don. It is clear that only the drive tire (right rear) smokes, but it smokes good... I have considered adding a T-Lok differental but I am waiting to add the tune as my next mod.
