Status: offline I just got a 95 gt 5.0 5 speed. i was wondering, is this the 302 engine or something else. i cant find anywhere where it says.

Status: offline yes its the 302 they didnt go to the 281 until 96 for the 4.6L.. and i will guesstimate 225 or so for hp if bone stock correct me someone else if im wrong.

Status: offline He's saying it's a 302 (5.0) with 225 HP. I would quess 225 HP also concidering the late foxes are rated 225, so I figure they wouldn't have deopped in power through the SN95 style.

Status: offline i have a 1994 gt same motor that you have in your 95 sabearn and we are about 210-215 stock the fox motors for some reason had a little bit more Hp. atleast this is what i have gotten from reading..

Status: offline what do you mean without a serpentine belt?? i always thought the 1988-1993 5.0 motors had a little bit more than the 1994-1995 motors.. even if they dont we have the weight that is a factor..

Arrrggghhhhhh. Yes the 1993 5.0 has the lowest HP of all the 5.0s

Ford decided in their last year to ditch the forged pistons for hypereutectic aluminum pistons. Not saying these are bad pistons, but they tend to go south quicker with more power added than 1992 and earlier.

So to add to the correction...the 1993 5.0 GTs have 205 hp stock.

87-93 have the same hp. they were just rated differently. like dcmann said in 93 they measured hp with all the accesories on the motor and running.

he's right they rated them differently for the lower hp bc of some standard so they measured the hp with all accesories unlike the 87-92 with no accesories

Status: offline i have always heard that the 94-95 had 215hp at the flywheel and the 89-93 had 225. the reason the 94-95's had less horsepower due to smaller intake runners

Unless you plan on adding some sort of power adder or the motor needs a complete rebuild those pistons are fine up to about 350-400hp N/A.

****tier computer on the 94-95 might be the culprit or maybe it just makes tuning harder, i forget.

they changed the way they dynoed the cars some time in the years (i forgot) that will also have an effect on your hp gain/loss
