U.S. Troops use a super long shot sniper rifle to kill hiding Taliban members.

http://www.kirschstrasse.net/upload/images/Sniper.wmv

*WARNING* Not safe for children! LOL

The bullet has some pretty dramatic effects on the human body at close range. Watching the video I would say every one of those targets were at ranges of 750-1000 meters (820-1094 yards). That's close range for a .50-cal. We a talking about a bullet that is a 1/2 inch in diameter and 2-1/4 inches in length with a total cartridge length of 5-1/2 inches.

ummm.. Taliban members. Real people. They were hiding in the terrian. In the first kill you can actually see the person moving around before being shot.

apparently those rifles can pierce light armor and are supposed to be effective up to 1,500 yards but they have been proven at up to 2,800 yards.

Did you guys know that we (Canada) have some of the best sniper teams in the world? They got alot of kills and backed up US troops in Afghanistan.

Just by taking in the sound... thats the Berretta .50 cal sniper rifle... isnt really meant to be used on people... it is meant as an armor piercing sniper rifle.. meant to attack convoys but lately since it does have one of the longest ranges they use it for people now... That gun has been out for quite a few years... maybe? 5 or 6 years ago is when it first came out...

the gun itself is aboiut 5 feet long the barrel runs almost all the way...and those arent exploding rounds.... those are the normal rounds hes shooting, the normal round on one of these guns when it first came out had more gun powder in them then the standard army hand grenade.. if u couldnt tell by the vid they are dam loud.... even with ear plugs and ear cover head fone things... u can still hear it really well... it is loud and it packs a damn big punch

According to the sound???

Ummm... do you know anything about rifles? Its not a Beretta anything. The one you must be THINKING of is the Barrett M82A1 sniper rifle. I dont think Beretta has made anything larger than a 5.56mm. LOL
