16 and want a stang!

sup guys! im 16 and looking for a stang (87-93 5.0 5 speed). mom says she wont let me get a car till im 17<IMG src=smileys/smiley19.gif border="0"> , but im working on that. i figure if i start learning not i wont be a noob when im 17. i race 100 mph gokarts with my grandpa. he tought me how to drive stick on a 5-series when i was 15! have also driven his tt supra! i have a lot of experience with remote controlled gas powered stuff so i know a lot about carbs. hope i can help you guys out and you can help me! <IMG src=smileys/smiley2.gif border="0">

tell her to let you drive a beater until 17 so you can at least take advantage of a clean record when you get a 5.0</P>

17 is a little drop in insurance when you've driven a yearwith no accidentsright?</P>

thanks for the reply. she wont let me get nething until im 17! plus, i have to go through a stupid 6 month rule (cant get liscence until i have had my permit for 6 months) and that will push my liscence until early march. if i was a day younger i wouldnt have to go through the rule! i have tried everything. she wont even let me get one if i pay for it myself!

I know it's tuff but the good thing is you get a year more to save and 50+ years to drive

i wish i had another year to save...i only have $1750. i dont know if i should get some piece of crap beaterand keep saving or see if i can try and get it right the first time with a little help from my parents

I WOULD GET THE 4CYL BEATER AND ADD A FEW THINGS TO IT AND THEN BUY YOU WHAT YOU REALLY WANT LATER. 1750 IS A NICE START. YOU COULD PROUBALY PICK UP A 5.0 FOR THAT SOMEWHEE.

thanks for the input guys. i dont know how much im going to get for a car, but im pretty sure i will get something. i guess i'd rather wait a year and have money for a car than have to buy one on my own. i will keep looking until she says i can, so that as soon as i can i know where to find it!
