ORIGINAL: 2000GT4.6 Bah I had a huge post but I just said **** it and deleted it. Its not worth arguing over. If you really want to beileve that his car, even as it sits with no axle work and street tires, is only capable of a 12 second 1/4 go right ahead. Maybe he cannot get traction like he says, maybe he just sucks at driving, maybe his track sucks, but the car is much faster than a mid/low 12 second machine. As I said before, simply do the math. IDK wtf is wrong with JD's car. I think ANY 650rwhp car should run faster than 12's...and at least trap over 120mph. I'm not grouping all Cobra's into this category, BUT, as it turns out, most of them dyno a ton and don't produce results. i.e. The Terminator I ran with pulley/bolt-ons that mustered a 8.2x ET with a 2.0x short time...which was his best pass of the night. You simply cannot argue with the times he's produced. Let's be honest, if you had a 650+rwhp car and ran it on 315 street tires and it didn't trap over 125mph, wouldn't you be pissed off and wondering wtf is broke? I think JD's car is amazing. It even looks amazing! 650rwhp, I don't have enough money to get me there, it's awesome that his car makes that much power. I would just be embarassed to tell someone that I make 600rwhp and only run 11's....much less 12's!!

can you feel the love? I tell you though. the trap speeds are lower than i would have expected but i would love to have a daily driver that would break traction in third and dyno at over 600 rwhp. Times are not everything. I hardly ever go to the track (mostly because it's embarrasing LOL), but can you imagine how that Cobra plants you in the seat?!?! w00t. I wouldn't be able to keep my foot out of it. Same with your car 98. Man i just love fast cars. I gotta get me one.

ORIGINAL: 98LS1 The only reason I want a manual is so I can street race more, from any speed. It'll also dyno over 400rwhp on motor and a ton on nitrous. In some ways, I want a dyno queen...for now. Once the 12 bolt goes in and some slicks go on, 10's will NOT be a problem. I dont get it?...ur saying a built auto sucks from a role?

It's far from a built tranny, hell, there's not even a shift kit in it, but it runs like a turd from anywhere but a low low kick or a stop. I'm going to get a manual for the fun factor and for the street racing factor. I'm probably not going to make my car any faster, except for more nitrous, so I really don't need an auto.

With a manual, for one you have less rotating mass, thusly less drivetrain loss causing more hp/tq. You can also race from virtually any speed. You don't have to worry as much about being at the top/bottom of a gear. My car used to run really well from a roll, until I put the stall in it. I think if you get a "tighter" stall, it won't be so bad. But it's still not going to run like a manual will. From the hole...that's a different story.
