Well its not really a claim...

Anyhoo... I am at the top of fourth gear when im coming across. Thats why I think the clutch is slipping. I had the car at 150 the other day and I was only partially into fifth.

Well yeah, a slipping clutch sucks balls.
But would it not show on your dyno sheet?
Your power curve looks like a normal Twin Screw car

And so, you're NOT running out of gear in fourth when you cross the line?
Are you GrannyShifting tha bish?

Well Ive tried to explain to people here that im not going full throttle in 1st or 2nd because it just spins. So I just give it enough gas to stay away from spinning but keep it going hard. Then once I hit third I cant powershift or it breake loose, so I do have to kinda granny shift it. Then I hit fourth and its balls to the wall.

Stangpower96... there is a such thing as the clutch slipping but not totally rolling over. It usually happens before the clutch starts to roll over. It will rev over just a tad at the shift then it will grab and at high rpms it slips a little more. Thats exactly what happened in my GT before the pedal went through the floor. I had a feeling it was happening... but I got the conformation from a friend that I raced that it is starting to go for sure.

LOL JD dont explain crap to these people. He dont owe any of you a explanation about his car! Why some of you haten all over him for? He has showed video of the car running with the KB on top, also has dyno numbers! He tells you his 1/4 mile time and mph and the rest of you start quizing him why his car making a slow trap!! Dude if he was a liar im sure he could say im running 125 mph trap speed @ 10.9... But he didnt, he told the truth and i can respect that! And im positive JD if you making that power you are burning clutch down the track. Obsolete usally clutch slips when the tq is at its peak, example down low 1/2 gears and probally 3rd also maybe being missed for tire spin. Everytime i have been on dyno i do a run from 4th gear and my car is cool along with my clutch so he might not of been slipping on the dyno. Congrats JD on some big numbers wish i had numbers like that. Keep the vids coming also... hey also becareful when you get sticky tires cause that really gonna help along the slipping clutch if it doesnt brake the axle's first. Good luck dude and i hope to run you when my 331 is done. heheh

I know very well how a slipping clutch is
Was driving around with that POS they call Centerforce for a couple months.

And not saying I don't believe his the #'s he's producing.
I'm saying his trap speeds are horridly weak for the power he's making.

what do 600-800 hp supras and cobras have in common? 12 second time slips

If you think a 600 RWHP cobra is gonna run 12 you are stupid.

I already typed it all up in that other post, go read the cobra shootout in the march MM&FF of this year. High 10s/low 11s ALL day long on IRS/stock eaton Cobras

HAHAHAHAHAHAH! Obviously you missed the massive 12 second passes he made at around 117mph. That's impressive! Wait, I think he trapped 121mph one time. Real time, not magazine times. Oh yea, he has 650rwhp also, not 600.

He went 12.5x @ 117 mph on a 2.0 short time.

The "magazine times" were held on an open track, with a fairly large crowd, and they were READERS CARS. You really think they can lie and **** about times with a huge crowd watching and people driving their own cars?

Yeah, MM&FF lieing about times wouldn't have come out on the interenet or anything....

I suppose your LS1 runs low 11s high 10s on street tires too eh? And I don't care if is 60' was 10 seconds, the IRS can be made to run fairly well. As I stated before, the one guy was cutting freaking 1.5 60'.

Not to mention that almost every video people post (including you LS1) is from a roll anyway. A car that runs in the 12s and traps at 12x MPH is gonna eat up a car that traps high 11s and does so with 11x MPH speeds.

Yes, well, obviously JD's car hasn't done such a thing yet.

They ran a stock LS1 to 12.8 and said there was more in it...most of you don't believe that either.

Normal street tires, probably not, but it damn sure would trap higher than 120mph. Hell, I was trapping 90-92mph in the 1/8 on a 50rwhp shot with exhaust.

Exactly why I'm on his case. He claims to annihalate certain cars. Heads/cam/nitrous LS1's, cam/nitrous LS1's, hell, with his trap speed, a bolt-on/nitrous LS1 would be plenty fast enough, FROM A ROLL!

I don't know, this is a never ending debate. I just don't see him cutting 1.5x short times in the near future, certainly not with DR's.

I enjoy bringing the stupidiy out in people. Notice how almost everyone agrees with what I'm saying? OB and MD even, not to mention every other racer on here.

This is just fun for me.

All I can say is with 650rwh you should trap over 125 easy, with 500 to the wheels I trapped 127! no matter what your traction is you should still have serious Mph and you dont.I think the cars sick but dyno numbers dont win races

what exactly are you? confused. any reason to call that car a dyno queen, do you not monitor what cobras are doing on the track speak with inteligence, not ignorance.

having read everything cuz i personally dont care for stangpowers opinion, or thoughts on the cobra's. i have my experience and research and thus my opinion. a cobra is not a dyno queen period. my boy john is clipping 10.07 with minor work out of his 03 cobra in gulfport ms. sorry but 10's do not equate to dyno queen status.

If you say so man. Fastest stock blower Cobra I've seen went 10.61 on a shot of gas. That's broke7 over at SVTPerformance.com. He cuts 1.5x short times and has an amazing car and is an amazing driver.

If your buddy went 10.07 with minor work, he needs to let everyone in on his secret.
