Hi i was looking at the gaz tank of the mustang 05 and was wondering how can you get an accurate fuel reading the way the tank is split in two, is the fuel pump in tank or external and for the float how does it get the reading from both side . Call me stupid but i dont get it. here is the pic of flapjack dual exhaust you can see the gaz tank .

I was wondering the same thing. I got my magnaflow system installed last night and couldn't help but see the weird looking tank. I would be interested in knowing how it all works. I did notice something rather large with a plastic cover over it further back from the tank. I thought it might be the fuel pump but not sure. By the way, if my wife can figure out how to get pictures on here there will be some of my new exhaust system and soon to be put on (just received today) Steeda air intake. Jim

the saddle tank on the left has the fuel pump and a sending unit in it a hose connects from it to the other side the right side has a fuel pick up and sending unit in it together they give the fuel reading. when i brought my tasnk in for replacment i ran it to almost empty. when we pulled it down the left side was dry and the right side had about a gal in it.
hope this helps.
i also under coated the car when i had the tank out it made the ride alittle quieter. i hated to see the rust!

Hey afixer, Why did you replace the tank already? Is there some kind of recall I don't know about? Also, do you have a pic of your mud flaps? Just curious how they look. Thanks, Jim

Thank you for youre reply afixer now i get it at first i tough they used a double pick-up with external fuel pump but then how they get fuel level (2 sender) that did not make any sense , im glad you could answer that for me and a very good idea to have had rust proofing added at the same time and great looking car you have afixer i can see the pride you have for youre ride.

Man that is a great job! I couldn't paint anything like that even with stencils. You have a great looking car. Thanks for the reply.
