I can do a methenol shot, larger heat exchanger and about 5 more pounds of boost and I will be 800+ to the wheels on nothing but a blower swap, fuel system upgrade and the methenol. Can you do that on stock internals in any Vette?
You think you could run 11's with 800rwhp?

not taking anything from the LS1(Its a great engine) but JD has a 4.6engine to the 5.7 so the SC is like a equalizer lol
It also has 3 more cams and 16 more valves. I'd say that makes up for our "outdated" pushrod technologies greater displacement.

I ran a 12.1 on street tires. Im sure I can run 10's on slicks. Have you ran an eleven yet? OOHH thats right... you've never been to a quarter mile track! So when is this going to end? LOL

Unless I hit a wall, or have a heartattack, I don't see 11's being a problem....
you guys wont give this guy a damn break, lol...personally i love those 03-04 cobras and i would take one over an LS1 anyday of the week..so all of you so-called mustang fans on here that for some reason dont like a KB cobra i really dont know what the f*ck is wrong w/ you people

this has to be the most retarded post i have seen. jd has a cobra, this is a mustang site. ls1 is a good motor, ls7 better motor, gm still is lacking in my opinion and i have a few of them. to come onto a mustang site and compare a vette to a cobra is interesting. and as you bash the 03 and 04 cobra which cost a helluva lot less than a vette is unneccesary. hell the 07 shelby has a 5.4 s/c what excuses will be brought up then. respect fast american muscle, period. here endeth the lesson

Can you re-type that...I still haven't exactly figured out what you said.

come on ls1 simply put this argument is ongoing. i hate when people bash fbodys or stangs esp on respective sites. personally i love all of them. vettes, t/a's ws-6 stangs. anything but a dodge. i would love to see you and jd line em up. pick a place and i will meet yall there with my weak ass 91 vert with a mesly 351w that is complete now - a fuel cell.

No one is picking on his car, well, not me. He came in talking all this **** about outrunning cars that are VERY quick, then he goes out and throws down a couple 12 second passes with a WEAK ass trap speed. A few of us called him out on it, and it lead to all this crap.
Most of us just can't see a 650rwhp car not trapping 125+mph, even spinning the whole 1320'.

true true, but if you don't hook, and start spinning a lot you are not going to keep your foot in it. fast car is only fast with a good man at the wheel. i beat my friends 02 vette with my 98 gt with heads, cams, exhaust, etc and it wasnt cause i had the faster car, just better at the wheel .

having not seen a vid of the run, it is hard to diagnose and your very right in those speeds are horrible, i did see the dyno vid with him and that speaks for itself. i am not arguing the driver, just that the car is no dyno queen as having drove a few and watched them for the past couple years i still remain impressed to the bone with the cobra and its ability. just as i am smitten with my cousin's challenger r/t 70 or 71 with the big hemi. and i hate dodges.
i can't say much for the trapping speeds cuz my buddies ls1 is trapping at 115 with a cam and bolt-ons and he has 365 rwhp. but he also on street tires was spinning through 2nd and would spin a little in 3rd. now thats 360 rwhp on street tires. now jdaniel has alot more power so i would expect him not to run outragious. he has all that power but nothing to get it to the wheels. im not going to argue over the trap speeds for obvious reasons but i think the 1/4 mile time is reasonable.
example: people who get gears think they instantly will run better 1/4 times but somtimes they run worse cuz they get no traction. i just think jdaniel has to much HP and needs to work on suspension so he can get all that power to the wheels. now i might have just made no sense but it sounded good to me lol.

p.s. that ls1 was running a 13.1
GOOD GOD!!! Someone finally understands! Has any one here roasted the tires through first and then had to lay off the gas... then hits second and starts spinning and has to lay off the gas... THEN hits third and spins half way through that gear just to get to fourth? I would say 118 mph is a fairly good number for spinning half way down the track, myself.

Thats why Vettes have Pro Comp suspension.

... plus your engine is FORCED these LS1's arent and if they were your car wouldnt keep up.

He was just trying to say that the LS1's dont have a s/c and look at how fast they are. They still have much more potential to be unleashed while the Cobra is much closer to its max.
But the Z06 never had an LS1 motor in it anyways.

for christ sakes!!!!!!! Your motor will go BOOM!!!! And now your talking NOT STREETABLE vehicles. And what makes you think your motor is stronger than a LS6 motor? What an ass.

well last year at the track we did a test......We made a run ,the car went 125. then we started in second gear off the line guess what it ran.....125 It doesnt matter what the traction is the car should still run the mph somethings wrong!Usallay the more you spin the higher trap speed.

for christ sakes!!!!!!! 1) Your motor will go BOOM!!!! And now your talking NOT STREETABLE vehicles. 2) And what makes you think your motor is stronger than a LS6 motor? What an ass.
1) Actually the engine will make 700 hp with the correct gas and timing and still be very streetable. Im at 650 and could probably pull 750 with a bigger heat exchanger, 150 shot of methenol, more boost and less timing.
2) Well for one... they come totally forged and in a cast iron block. Thats why it will hold more. 800 hp out of a FI engine is actually still very streetable. My 650 hp car is like driving a regular Mustang till I get into boost... then it hauls ass. And you called me an ass. LOL
