Actually, as long as he doesn't let it go off the rev limiter, it should be fine.

To be honest, it's probably gonna run slower with a DR since the clutch is slipping at higher RPM's as it is. So now it will just slip all the way down the track.

But good luck anyway. I'd like to see the car get a decent time. I just think you're farther away than you think JD.

Me too

Well I have made it perfectly clear that I understand how far away I am, That I need a new clutch, a different rearend that I can get traction on and some real tires. I understand im that far away... but after I get that installed ald re-learn the car I think I will be easily mid tens with the Methanol injection. Tell me why I wouldnt? I have basically the same setup as most of the guys running low 11's right now besides tires.

I wish ya luck. I know how it feels to invest money in something, you hope it performs like it should. I don't see why you shouldn't run 10's. The only thing that worried me was the trap speed and that you're a 6 speed. Better drive the wheels off of it. Anything done to the tranny? Most guys at least get a Liberty input shaft.

You still gonna drive it on the street as a DD?

Eh, I just wish all of you could get it through your heads that this all started with a couple of us questioning his trap speed....then it turned into all this ****.

Oh well. It's not even fun anymore.

Uts still my dialy driver for now. Im about to invest in an F250 to pull the car with. I think the trap speed has something to do with the clutch not performing correctly and I keep forgetting to set the data logger back right for the track. I realized last weekend after racing the Z06 that Ive been shifting at 5300 rpms this whole time because thats where I have the shift light set at for the streets. I need to bump it back to 6300 for the track and I might be able to get a better trap time if the clutch holds up.

ALSO!!! I HAVE 3.73's in it. I just found out today. I drove my buddys '03 Cobra that he bought brand new and has stock hears in it and there was about a 300-350 rpm difference in our cars. I questioned it and my buddy that does have 3.73's took me for a ride in his and our rpms matched to the T. So im calling the shop that built my car to see who installed them.

Maybe people would respond to you when you have some intelligent to say. Get off his nuts and get your own fast car.

I'd like to point out JD, that I never bad mouthed your car. In fact, I offered suggestions as to get it down the track. 98 is right. Some of us did question the trap speed. As it does represent the power that the car is making. Now if you're only opening it 1/2 throttle, thats different. But thats not what you said. Who cares?

Get back to the track with the drag radials on it and let us know what it does.

I did say that. Ive stressed that point since I posted this that im not going but half throttle until im half way into third gear. Here is what I said in the very first post of this thread...

quote:

I dont have all the slips but I do have the best run, so here it is. Please remember that this is on street tires and im not going into full throttle till I hit third or I get bad wheel hop and spin very easily.

See, I knew you said that, but your 1/8 to 1/4 mile doesn't represent that very well, as MD also said. You increased the normal amount of mph from the 1/8 to the 1/4 as if you were full throttle the whole time. It's not like you trapped 88mph in the 1/8, then 130 in the 1/4. How come no one talked **** to MDValdosta about what all he said? It was only a few of us that cought hell for it. He thought exactly the same as the rest of us....

Just get a clutch and a set of tires, and prove us wrong. But please, get a run on video....even if you don't get a clutch and tires, maybe that'll help us determine why you run so slow.

This is "Checkbook Racing" at it's best. Sometimes you spend a $hitload of money and still can't perform at the track Shoulda kept the 2 valve ........

HE GOT SKEERD!!!

There are no heads/cam LS1's afraid of your cobra, much less the lightest LS1 of them all. ****, even if all he had was a decent aftermarket cam he would have drug your ass. I hate people that are so one sided like that. I can admit that a kenne bell cobra could take me, but if i called him out and he happened to leave early, i wouldnt brag on the internet about him being afraid.

Alrighty.. another t00l I have to explain this to.

You must have missed it also. There was a modded Z06 at the track the two weekends after I posted this and he was on BFG drag radials. He had LT headers, X pipe and true duals and some head work. I didnt really wanna run that night but since he jumped in I figured I would ask for the honors which he gladly accepted. Hell.. all I could do is lose or win.

We lined up and did out burnouts and staged the tree. We took off pulling the same short time (me on street tires of course) and I missed second gear by letting the clutch out to fast. Well he jumped a car and a half on me. I found third gear and started reeling him in and by the end of fourth gear and at the traps I was 3/4 cars in front of him. His front tires was at my rear bumper. So that is one "Heads/Cammed" LS1 thats probably not gonna wanna run me next trip to the track.

So in all honestly, I could have killed that C5 reguardless of what tires he was running. But I know what you're gonna say... there is no way I could have done that... the driver didnt know how to drive... it wasnt a real race reguardless if you were at the track or not... ETC!!! Ive heard them all.

You LS1 guys never let anything die. Always fighting for the top. AND OBVISOUSLY YOU MISSED THE FACT THAT HE CALLED ME OUT FIRST!!!

Way to go with the post! It has entertained me for and hour and a half. I am not hanging off somebody's balls like they have said, but Nice Run. I really like your car, and i wish i had one. Heres my question, how do these people know how much u spun? u coulda burnt the tires off that thing and had to get off the gas and get on lighter a couple times, they dont know. U werent even in the throttle they whole way. theyre saying if i run my gt @ half throttle til i get to third then gun it im still gonna trap decent? not quite that is just plain common sense. I understand and have experienced 1st hand what spinning will do to your trap. Almost nothing. That is at WOT not half. Anyways congrats on the mag photo shoot, and i cant wait to pick it up. Keep us posted on the times u run on the other tires. U will prove alot of people wrong. I am sure of it.
