I think all anyone's saying hear is that JD's run is alot slower than what would be expected from a car with 600hp. The side getting argued over is the folks saying its because of traction problems leading to a slow trap speed. Like many of us already said, if it was a traction problem then even with traction its still going to slow - as the mph wouldn't get faster (actually it would probably get slower).

In my opinion, either JD is scared of gassing the car or he was short shifting it. It wasn't a problem with not going full throttle till 3rd gear because the 1/8 - 1/4 times don't show that. In his defense it was his first pass in the car, and all the practice in the world with his GT wouldn't prepare him for driving a car with a different powerband and alot more power. He'll get faster with time, BUT his problem right now isn't traction. I think he just wasn't raping the car like he should. It will come as he gets more seat time, he's not a bad driver. I don't think it will go as fast as he's hoping for though, especially in the summer heat that you get in Texas.

Also, theirs alot more important things to fast 1/4 times than a dyno graph.

Now we've all said this 100 times. But since there are some know it alls that have never been to the track claiming the MPH is going to get better. We can't possibly be correct.

Maybe it just takes a Mustang guy to spell it all out for them. (Although, I had one of the fastest Mustangs here) But what the hell do I know?

Well... once I get some good tires and im able to launch without breaking traction and actually going WOT, then we will see what I run.

Thank you for saying what everyone else has been saying since the initial post. Maybe a select few here will actually listen to you.

Glad to see ya posting again as well.

I never said that.

Come on, guys. No reason in raising a big fuss over some numbers. I wont post any more till they are better and will please more people.

I was not talking to you JD, never once have I hated on you or your car. My coment was directed at that Venom tool. Honestly I was just trying to help before, but according to some people on here if I don't bow down and lick your nuts I must be jealous. Honestly some of guys really can't see an inch past the Ford vs Chevy thing can you. I or another Chevy guy says somthing and we get flack for it, but MD says the same thing and nobody says a word.

Your sure full of yourself if you think I was directing my comment towards you. I was actually directing it at the people who were telling him he sucked a-s for his runs. So there, now that we're all cleared up about who's a pussy and who isn't, let's all play nice.

JD will easily hit 10s when he launches it. His trap speed on his previous run is not indicative of what that car is capable of when driven full tilt. There are several guys running very low 11s high 10s with the KBs, and that is what I was basing my opinion on.

You were one of the few LS guys I actually felt were not ragging on Mustangs all the time, but now I think you are a jealous pussy for your latest and greatest comments.

Hey I thought the comments were directed my way, somtimes it's hard to tell on here who is talking to who, so I'm sorry if I jumped to conclusions. I never rag on Stangs, why would I, I like them and would have one if not for the deal I got on my SS. I also have no reason to be jealous of anything, I have built and owned several 10 sec. cars, currently I am rebuilding the motor in my LS1, and when it's done I am sure it will be able to hold its own. So on that note I call a truce, OK?

Truce.

I think you should make a thread listing who is jealous or not about you and your car.

your car is a complete piece of trash. you need to just leave it at my front door so i can properly dispose of it. it should not even be on the road.

No the car is nice just needs a little more seat time to handle the car. Thats a lot of power to handle and properly launch with IRS. BUt no one is jealous of the car but quit bragging about it so much and they may quit riding you so hard. OR keep talking and saddle up cause you are there horse.

Im just posting times and what Ive done. Nothing any different than what I did with my GT. These guys think they can strap into a 650 hp car and run 10's from the get go because they are all NHRA licensed here. You didnt know that?

I must have missed that email. But I will have to go and get my licsense now. Just get some tires and little suspension work and your car will be in the mid 10's. Oh yeah get a new clutch too that would really help.

that's some damn good driving on street tires. with some ET Streets, you're in the 11's. your trap might even go up since you'll be able to go balls to the wall from a stop.

[retarted statement on] No No No... the guys here have educated me. If I only ran a 118 mph trap speed then there is no way possible for my car to go any faster... EVER!!! I will be in the 12's for the rest of my life. Suspension and tires will do absolutly nothing for a 650 hp car. I have a dyno queen. [/retarted statement off]

I know the car will be deep in the 11's if I can get traction and I know I will trap well in the 12X's
