Trust me... your car is the very last of vehicles im worried about. You will be lucky to see 13's in that thing. Have you even been to a track in it yet?

i don't think you are really hearing what some these guy's are trying to tell you......and some people are chiming
in cause they don't really care.....just want to throw dirt in your eyes for the sake a 592rwhp car is only in the twelves!!!.....but still you got to start somewhere...should of started out in second imo.if you was spinning that bad....?...hell your 1/8th told me that 8.30@90mph?.....some of these guy's are telling you the truth...and i hope you know who they are!....they have helped me...so i have to believe that they are trying to help you....

what i'm concerned about is your fuel pressure, and maybe your clutch???<doubtful....i'd check your plugs after a pass??....by the way you know once you are discharged go straight to unemployment.......i did till i hooked up with freightliner<****s!...anyways it will help till your future job is secured.

JD,

It's about time you took that thing to the track. Don't let these jealous pussies get you down. We all know what a 600hp Cobra is capable of with the right set up. I'd start with Drag radials and tear down the track to get the hang of when you can launch that baby, plus your less apt to tear up the IRS that way. I'm putting 140 less hp than you and I can drop it at about 3000 on drag radials while at the track and it just hooks, look at my 1.7 60's. Once you start hooking your gonna hit 11.4 - 10.9. If you swap out that rear, you'd easily hit the mid 10s.

On a side note, did you read the new 5.0 Mustang mag this month yet? They do a Cam swap on an 03 and gain 40-50 hp on a pullied Cobra, but stated that a KB high hp Cobra would really benefit because the new Cams allow for higher RPMs. The only problem is the price tag...Real expensive.

Anyways, congrats and keep it up! Nice to talk Cobra talk with the few members who have them...

Dood, I don't know what you're smokin, but 117mph trap speed isn't gonna run some 10's. Mid 11's at best, with a monster launch. Most of us aren't jealous, we're just telling the truth. Hell, mid 11's with 600rwhp is still Supra territory.

I think the LS1 guys took that jealous pussy comment to heart. He didn't mean it guys I will apologize for him so there. JD has a fast car and will be in the mid 10's with some suspension and tires. Plus the first time there he was excited and maybe a little nervous so things are never there best the first time. Keep up the good work JD and your times will drop.

Yeah... I was joking about the rev limiter. LOL My buddy has the IRS brace and bushings and he launches at 4000-5000 rpms on ET Streets and he has yet to mess anything up. Wheel hop is actually what breaks the half shafts. The half shafts are actually 31 splines. So they should be good for a pounding as long as you get no wheel hop.

Im hoping for a 1.3 to a 1.5 60 ft on good tires and suspension.

I was not talking to you JD, never once have I hated on you or your car. My coment was directed at that Venom tool. Honestly I was just trying to help before, but according to some people on here if I don't bow down and lick your nuts I must be jealous. Honestly some of guys really can't see an inch past the Ford vs Chevy thing can you. I or another Chevy guy says somthing and we get flack for it, but MD says the same thing and nobody says a word.

I think everyones comments are directed at me since I started putting the reality check into this. Oh well.

The people saying he will be in the mid 10's with just tires and a brace obviously don't know jack ....

Look at real world numbers with Perfect traction and similar MPH

mdvaldosta time slip:

60 foot time 1.59
1/8 Mile ET 7.357
1/8 Mile MPH 92.15 MPH
1/4 Mile ET 11.470
1/4 Mile MPH 120.58 MPH

If JD were to hook his time slip would look similar to this at best.

Your sure full of yourself if you think I was directing my comment towards you. I was actually directing it at the people who were telling him he sucked a-s for his runs. So there, now that we're all cleared up about who's a pussy and who isn't, let's all play nice.

JD will easily hit 10s when he launches it. His trap speed on his previous run is not indicative of what that car is capable of when driven full tilt. There are several guys running very low 11s high 10s with the KBs, and that is what I was basing my opinion on.

You were one of the few LS guys I actually felt were not ragging on Mustangs all the time, but now I think you are a jealous pussy for your latest and greatest comments.

What based on what he posted in his timeslip? He clearly stated on several occasions that he does not get on it early. This will affect his trap speed. Go to svtperformance and see the cars there with similiar setups. They trap over 128MPH and hit low 11s high 10s. So, if you are basing your numbers on what he posted previously, your sadly mistaken. Any car that hooks with a good launch and 600 hp is going to hit the 10s. Your thinking here is almost like saying, Team A beats Team B, and Team C beat Team A, therefore, Team C will beat Team B. Just not an absolute.

Hey I thought the comments were directed my way, somtimes it's hard to tell on here who is talking to who, so I'm sorry if I jumped to conclusions. I never rag on Stangs, why would I, I like them and would have one if not for the deal I got on my SS. I also have no reason to be jealous of anything, I have built and owned several 10 sec. cars, currently I am rebuilding the motor in my LS1, and when it's done I am sure it will be able to hold its own. So on that note I call a truce, OK?
