Ok..Hi :) I got caught in a rain storm tonight with my Mustang...I am wanting to replace the OEM tires. Toyos on my Saturn and I am spoiled I guess, but I was not pleased with the OEM BF Goodrinch at all.
I am keeping my factory rims. I like the old "spinner / knockoff" look.
? that may make no sense, but I saw the option when looking around the internet tonight.
Should I get the exact size size that is on the car now? Could I get a "taller" sidewall tire? ANy reason too? APpreance? Can you do slightly wider tires that will still fit on the factory rim? Wider on back?...
Sorry I dont know more about this. I do audio stuff, etc....tires not my specialty.
Suggestions on tires? Needing performance tires of course but some that could handle rain if needed. In winter mustang is being parked.....
I stopped by a tire place on my way to work this morning... I did not realize how the aspect size worked.... According to what I was old this morning, these are the widest I can get.
Any downside to a wider tire? Should the fronts be this wide?
Toyo Proxes T1-S 245/55ZR16 Or Toyo Proxes T1R 245/55ZR16
I have 255/45/17's on my 17" x 9" Bullitt rims. I have seen many links on this subject. If you keep the standard rims one of those discussions will tell you exactly how big you can go. I have seen a few posters list wider rear tires but I like the look of the same size all around personally. Take a few minutes and search for old discussions. You will find everything you ever wanted to know about tires.
if you want to just replace the tires...get 245/50/16...i replaces those 100 miles of the dealer lot...then 2000 miles later i got the bullitts...lower profile threw off the speedo but it could take the turns faster...
