Default G35 Coupe vs. 4.6 Thunderbird

well i went cruising before i went out last night, and turned onto a major road near me. after i turned a black g35 coupe with 2 kids about my age (18, 19 or so) came flying past me. came to a light and he took off, not hard but decently. i just said whatever and drove normally. next light does the same thing. so finally the third light, i got on it a bit and went i hit his rear bumper i nailed it, as did he. i flew by him then braked so he could catch me, i heard him gun it from about my rear bumper and i nailed the gas. we both flew side by side, i couldnt believe he didnt pull me. i eventually pulled a car on him all the way to 110 (damn governor, i need a chip!) then braked. he did the fly by and switched into my lane. i was pretty impressed, i never ran one before so i said what the hell. i couldnt tell if it was stick or auto, most likely it was auto, or he couldnt drive daddy's car for crap.

there is no way. even if he did have a tiptronic tranny. a G35 is a 350Z with reworked ignition fuel mapping. they run low 13's with low 5 sec 0-60

its a low 14 second car, not quite as fast as a 350z. 14 second car, prob a 15 second driver? or auto? i dunno, like i said, it was close, i slowly pulled on him, i was shocked.

Maybe the 05s which aren't even introduced to the public yet.

They have 260 for the auto and 280 for the manual, they're a bit slower than the 350z because they're built for luxury more than speed.

The automatic still puts out 280hp and around 272 lbft. The 05 Manuals have 298 hp but the decreased torque (near 260) causes it to not really have any added performance (Some who've driven both say that its actually not as quick)-Much like the New Z Track and 35th Anniversary. An auto should run mid-high 14s and a stick should run mid to mid-low 14s. They're about .2-.25 slower than the Z in about every performance test. (Added weight, cushier suspension, higher drag coefficient)
