afixer -- long time, no talk.

Nook,

I'm looking to put GT lights on my Mustang as well. However, I'm also considering the GT bumper so that my grill doesn't overhang the bumper. Damn Ford for doing in this way.

Anyways, in Virginia, you have to have your foglights turn off automatically when the high-beams are engaged/flashed.

Do you know how this would be accomplished?

thats easy. install another relay before the relay. run a wire ( hot) from the high beams to 86 then ground 85 run the wire from the switch to 30 first then jump from 87a to 85 on the other relay 30 to 87a is normally closed that will allow the current to flow when you hit the high beams it will trip relay 1 cutting the ground to relay 2 and shutting off the fogs.

i hope this helps it uses the high beam ( hot ) as the trigger. you could also tap into the high beam relay and use the ground as the trigger if you want. just need to change 86 and 85 one relay 1 to hot and wire to trigger side of high relay at main fuse panel under hood. i drew this this morning quick sorry if its crude.

I'll have a DIY with clear images and wiring directions once im done, I couldnt have done it without the help here thats for sure. I would have just used a tacky radio shack switch direct to the lights had I not received this help!

So....N....about that DIY..? It would really help, or Afixer if you could PM me the diagrams and directions. I think all the needed info is in this thread...it just seams unclear and disorganized so my interpretation of everything is a bit scrammbled!

Thanks EVERYONE!!!

Make sure you post that write up in the HOW TO DO IT: Sticky thread.

The GT Fogs upgrade is a pretty popular thing, and there are quite a few who would appreciate that write up!
