quick question on the dual exhaust. I saw that JBA post earlier that has the dual exhaust using the Y-pipe. I know you can change out the headers to long tube racing headers, then into an x-pipe, or h-pipe, and then into the catback mufflers.
Is there a significant performance difference in buying the JBA package for $500 or making it a true dual exhaust changing out the headers, x-pipe, and then the mufflers? There would be a significant price difference between the 2 options? I want dual exhausts on my 2005 V6 however if changing to an x-pipe option and the long tube racing headers won't net me much differencein performance, i'd rather go with the JBA package.
the x pipe will help maintain your low end torque, something ricers overlook when adding free flow exhaust to their 4 bangers. my true duals with no balance tube really pulls strong above 4K RPM. i lost a little low end but i don't care and the sound is better for me with no xpipe or h pipe.
