Default Classic Mustang Parts Intercha

I'm a new Mustang owner, a 1965 coupe with a 1971 302 CI engine (basically stock, except for a mildcam, Edelbrock 600 CFM carb, Pertronix ignition & headers) and top loader four speed. I've been into cars for many years, but this is my first Ford, so I know very little about Mustang parts interchangeability. My questions are:

1) I've located a 1986 5 speed transmission out of a Mustang. Will itbolt up to my 1971 302 with out an adapter plate? Will I have to shorten the drive line?

2)What is the diffference in the 1971 302 I have and 5.0's from the 1980'sto the current time? Can I put a roller cam in my '71 and what machining mods are required? Where can I find out which parts from current 5.0's will fit on my '71 302?

3) The toploader 4 speed trans shifts ok, but the gears are hard to find. It has a short throw Hurst Indy shifter (straight stick). It has trans oil in it and the gears are undamaged.

4) Willa different brand 4 speed transmissionbolt up to my 302 (such as a Borg Warner T 10 or something else)?

5) I would like to replace the stock clutch with a new disk and pressure plate. Any suggestions on the type best suited for general cruising? I plan to rebuild the 302 to about 400 HP. Any suggestions on where to find info on changing out the stock clutch linkage with a hydraulicunit or cable setup?

6) The rear end is a stock unit (I think it's about2.8:1 ratio). I would like to change it to somewhere around 3.73:1 with positraction. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

7) I would like to put front disk brakes on the car (I installed a dual master cylinder on it recently). Am I better off buying a conversion kit or scrounging junk yards for parts?
