Interesting - mine begins to engage almost right off the floor when it's cold. Once it warms up, it begins to engage after about 1/4 of the available travel. Full engagement, is roughly half way to 2/3's. This is exactly how I like it, so I haven't given it much thought. However, when it was new it was very grabby and chattery; it was quite frustrating. I've been driving manuals off and on for 21 years (26 if you count motorcycles) and this one really made me feel like I'd never driven a stick in my life. I gave it some slightly hard launches and it cleared up after about 200 miles - it's got 3800 miles on it now and it works like a champ.

I gave a quick glance and don't see any way to adjust it unless there's a set screw behind the slave. I can't get underneath to check for sure at the moment.
