ok im 13 i do not have a car... or a licence i only drove my uncle auto but i was sonding on a manual with switching gears so you stop excererating and push down on the clutch and then shift or what
Turn on the car by pressing down the clutch all the way ( make sure its in nutreul). To take off, just put it in first and then give it a little bit of gas while releasing the clutch slowly, its simple once you get the hang of it. You have 3 years of practice till you have to worry about it anyways.

If you really want to do a nice burnie, give it some gas, to like 3 or 4000 rpm, and just move your clutch foot sideways..FAST!! And hold on! But I think you are a bit young to be doing that! Learn to control the car first!
ohhh ok i get it but going for first to second you just let off the gas?
when you switch gears from first to second , let off the gas and push in the clucth and shift, then slowly release the clutch and start tro push the gas again.

I have to wonder why at 13 you need all this info. Thinking about taking his car out for a spin while he is away or something?
The hardest thing about learning to drive a stick is going from a dead stop. The best way to start out is extreamly slowly let the clutch out once the car barley starts to roll press the gas in just slightly and continue to release the clutch. To do a burn out just rev the engine really high and let the clutch go.
But I am hoping that you are not going to do this until you are with an adult. Juvie jail is not fun so I hear.

Yeah I was wondering the same thing... a 13 year old should just ask his parents or uncle for this info.....

13? He's old enough! I've got motor oil for blood, and so will my kids. Kid, if the man in your family isn't teaching you this stuff, then you should definitely try it for yourself. Just make sure that you are in an area with LOTS of space all around you, like an empty supermarket parking lot or a big field. Make sure you have a parent with you!!! Do what they told you about the shifting. If you want to do a burn out, rev the engine to about 3000 rpms, release the clutch all the way, and AS SOON as you start moving, put your foot on the brake. Once your foot is on the brake, you will have to accelerate much more--the more you accelerate, the more you should push the brake--the idea is to keep the car relatively still, while the rear wheels spin. This happens because when you push the brake pedal, you are only applying the brakes to about 85 percent to the front, and 15 percent to the rear, so, the front brakes will hold the car still, but they won't stop the rear ones from spinning. REMEMBER!: Doing this DESTROYES the tires and the rear brakes (rear rotors too, sometimes). Also, it puts the engine and driveshaft under a LOT of stress. Some cars are just destroyed after doing ONE good burnout. So, if you don't want your parents to get really upset about taking the car, and much less, destroying the car, make sure you are old enough to work to pay for the parts. Have fun my friend! You WILL let us know how it turned out? God, I can't wait to have kids.

if you dont want to ruin stuff on your car i suggest learning on gravel. Thats how i did it and if you let the clutch out too soon u wont roast tires...jsut gravel. Another good thing about gravel is that most of the time noone is around.
Actually, if you do it at driver's ED, you'll fail the class! You know what? You are only 13, but you are so smart--you shouldn't be driving until you have at least your restricted. But believe me, I know what it is to dream...You know what you should do until then???
Learn from online, and from working on cars to fix them...maybe with your uncle? So that when you have your first car, you will know EVERYTHING there is to know about your car, and you shut everybody up. Rock on, kid! You're an inspiration to all of us that want a son as cool as you.
Good luck!

Your uncle? Really? That's pretty damn cool! Definitely hang out the garage...stay away from the camera lights--that's not going to help you any---but remember: Gear and motor oil are your best friends!
Let us know how it goes, ok?

I think Flex is just a TV personality, however--I don't think he does any real garage work, does he? And as to the previous comment, damn right--"pimping out" a mustang is like Britney Spears sings Mozart's Requiem....Very painful.
