Hello,

I just purchased a '97 Cobra Convertible. Being a newbie to the Mustang/Cobra world I have a couple of questions that have probably been gone over in the past. Firstly, my radio volume buttons have had the paint rubbed off and it ugly's up and otherwise nice interior. Is there any way to get replacements or otherwise fix this without changing the head unit? Another question I have is, my car came with Cobra R rims and I see a lot of '97's with these wheels. In fact, most of the '97's I've seen either have the stock wheels or the Cobra R's. Is this coincidence or were these an option? I've read about a subframe connector that crosses over underneath the car and connects to the seat attach points. Who makes this and has anybody here had experience with it? I have a couple more but I'll hold onto them until another time. Looking forward to learning a lot about Mustangs and meeting some new people. Later days!

Get a head unit. Everyone and their mother has Cobra R's. Look in MM+FF advertisers index for Wild Rides. They make the subframe connectors. They are a great idea for one of your first mods.

Personally, I don't see what's the big woop about Cobra R's, I'm not gettin' 'em. As for the head unit, just replace it. But if you really insist on keeping it, you have several options

1- go to a junkyard, get the knobs.

2- get a Year One catalog, they'll be able to help you.

3- buy a new freakin' unit!!!
