54 and I refuse to grow old!!!!
My boys( 23 and 26) are jealous and scared to ride with me.
Might have something to do with getting the 05 up to 130 to show them how fast it is. ( Foolish them, they dared me)!
Old doesn't mean slow!!!

This is my second mustang, the first was a 67 hardtop I owned at 22, with a 351CobraJet I built to replace the stock 289, around 400HP. It was evil handling, wouldn't stop, but it sure was fast! The 05 is everything the 67 wasn't.

I turn 41 this month and have 4 kids. I love this car because it reminds me that 41 isn't old. Looks like our gener is the most popular. Go 40's.

Certainly some good stories here. I'll be 49 and my wife will be 50 in august (she robbed the cradle). She had a 67 or around there when she was young. She has always loved the stangs. I grew up a GM man through and through. We had a 70 Corvette for about 4 years which had been my true dream car since I was old enough to say "car go fast!" We both got a lot of enjoyment out of the vette but it did start to worry me what I might have to replace next. Those dang parts are pricey! Also, it did not have A/C and I'm getting to the age where I want comfort along with a fun ride. To make a long story even l o n g e r , when I saw the first 05 at my local dealer (sonic blue) I was truly impressed. Every time I drove by and saw that color and body style it just looked like a true muscle car. So with one trip to the dealer, a test drive by ourselves (man I drove it like it wasn't mine since it wasn't) we decided we had to have one. Got the one with exactly all the options we wanted in about a week from one of the dealers other lots. We then sold the vette (we held a candle light ceremony in her memory) and starting putting goodies on the stang. To sum it up, I just wanted to say that I'm having the time of my life with this car. I've never liked a car better and had so much fun driving it!! So three cheers for us old timers who are spending our childrens inheritance and loving every minute of it!!!

I'm 42, but when I take delivery on the '06 that I just ordered yesterday I'll be 43.

My local Ford guy asked me, "are you SURE you can stand to wait 3 to 6 months for this car?" I said to him, "I've waited 35 years for this car. Another few months isn't gonna kill me."

As my "screen name" implies, I am a Chevy owner....a '70 Chevelle I bought new in 1970. The ONLY new car I've ever owned. With THAT said, I'll admit that the 2005 Mustang is the first new car since then that has actually gotten my attention! I sent for the brochure and am ready to do the "test drive thing"! At the age of 58, I figure I owe myself a new car, right? Ford really got it right. Of course, it'll be the GT...sonic blue, probably. Anyway, I just wanted you guys to know that alot of Chevy guys, especially guys from the Team Chevelle forum, really like the '05 Mustang. Nice car.

I'm 26 today.

I'll be 27 tomorrow.

So you'll be well into your 60's by mid-July. Bet that sucks!

Ha, well, I'm still 27 and half of June has come and gone.

Welcome, Jerry... and it's really too bad that GM and Chrysler didn't go retro, too. It would have really neat to see a whole new crop of "retro-muscle" cars prowling the streets like they did 30-40 years ago.

Oh, if you want Sonic Blue, you'll need to try to find an '05... Sonic Blue won't be available in '06 (new color is Vista Blue). Good luck!!
