What is the average 1/4 mile run for the new V6? And for anyone who hasn't tried the Gtech Pro, you should. I got the cheapie one that sells on ebay for about $45. I've used it on my Vette several times and that thing is always dead on when it comes to the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. Was pretty impressed, since it looks pretty cheap made. Works great though, won't give you everything that a full dyno will. But you can compare your 0-60 and 1/4 mile times as well as top HP rating. Hoose84

Cool, I think it's a little faster than my Vette or at least as fast. A lot better on gas though. I was hoping that it was close to the same amount of power since they both have 210 HP, but that top speed limiter sucks. My 95 Beretta (3.1L) capped at 114 as well. I've pushed the Vette to 140 and still had some pedal left, but I think the limiter is set to 142 on that one. Hoose84

When I was a kid in High School my Dad bought me a 1978 chevette and it did 0-60 in about 15 seconds.

I took my stock V-6 to the track and my best time in three runs was 16.1789. Granted, the Car and Driver (where the quoted numbers come from) drivers are surely better drag racers, probably not to the tune of .8 seconds.

ORIGINAL: don_w Interesting... quicker from 0-60 than it is from 5-60???? Car and Driver explained that once. Just about all cars are quicker from 0 because of the way they do the launch. At 5 mph, the engine is almost always going to bog before the car gets moving. And I don't think they allow revving it up and dropping the clutch, or using the brake to hold an automatic at 5 mph with the throttle mashed to the floor.
