ob, any progress on the car yet? have u gotten that plate u need. that thing is goin to be sick when u get it running, what kinda tranny are u using. me and u both spent around the same amount of money on our engines but your block was just way more then mine (frpp) im kinda in the same boat as u. im waiting for a stupid sensor off a stock maf so i can hook it up to my c&l, then after that, its go time and a trip to the dyno.
Slowly indeed, keep running into little things. Like now, My Oil Pressure Sending Unit. Does not go in the normal location. The fitting is way too small for the hole that's in my block.
I need to find someone with a dart block that I can ask what they did there.
But, for now. Bellhousing is on, along with clutch and pressure plate.
Putting tranny on either tonight or tomorrow morning. And then dropping the thing in the engine bay.
Make sure you go to a parts store and see if you can get a step fitting. And i will try and make it up to youre place tmrw. If not i'll be up either Thursday or Friday. We will get it in by this weekend dont worry buddy. As long as there are no more problems. lol.

MAKIN SOME PROGRESS!!!!!!! what kinda oil are u gonna run at first? how are you going to break it in? after a few thousand miles, switch to Royal Purple !
it has a 500 mile break it period i thought with your oil sending unit can you buy a fitting for it also to let you know the 93 oil sending unit is smaller and reads better
Welp, for those that still care. Got a little more done today, was cut short because of the rain. Was going to put it IN today... but Thank You Oh So Wonderous Storm!
Tranny+ Clutch + pressure plate+ Fork +Bellhousing all on and torqued to spec. Also, found a fitting for my Oil Pressure Sending unit at a hardware store Also, picked up some new bellhousing bolts, misplaced some of em so got 6 new. EDIT: Almost fergot, the best part. Had to modify my transmission. Bolts WOULD NOT FIT thru the tranny itself. Busted out the ole trusty power drill and widend up them thar holes. Bolted up very nicely and now sitting perfect.
Mah Purdeh TKO500!! Should've taken some before and after pics with the bellhousing... Used a Nice huge hefty can of carb cleaner to get all that clutch dust off of it... Saw these at the store and HAD to get them... Haha funniest **** i've seen in a while. Ricers Dream in a Can right thar.
hey OB. as far as break in, i have a really good prcedure for the motor. when u fire it start it and then immediatly set the idle to about 2500-3000RPM. then set the timing while its running. let it run for about 20-25 minutes. then shut it down and let it sit overnight so it can cool COMPLETELY. this will seat the rings SUPER good, and also break in the cam and springs, and the rapid heat up and cool down gives you the LONGEST Life possible. then fire it and check timng again then take it out. take it easy and then let it cool back off, then take it out again and get on the gas a little more. then u can start wonping on it after awhile. my friend uses this method and he builds some of the best motors around. he has a 70 mach 1 with a 522 and makes over 800hp on a 200 shot . he also has a mustang two with an AWESOME 347 and it sounds SOOOO good! just letting you know this is a great procces for making the motor last as long as possible

You only need to do that with a flat tappet cam, really the only thing you need to do is a couple of engine compression stops the seat the rings and off course one or two cool down periods for the springs until you really see any high rpms, and make sure you motor is warmed up before you turn it up cause when hi-po springs are cold they are fragile.
