Ah, noticed something the other day too. There's a port like the size of the exhaust ports on my heads, on my timing chain cover. On the drivers side of it... Not a clue what it's for, anyone know? Supposedly a factory replacement cover, but my old one did not look like that.
ob your headders are going to stick out your hood frontwards... does that mean my 408 is not going to last either ,,, i got a stock block **free** takes 700 hp! sp far.should i have gone 377 ??
As far as I know there is no more problems with the 347s they last just as long as the 331.My good friend has one and it has never burnt a drop of oil!
the 331 will last long due to big(longer) skirts on the pistons as the smaller 347 ones tend to rock ever so slightly

This one I call, Beauty and the Fourbanger. Front of the new k-member Side Now see my timing chain cover? That open port near the top of the balancer. And, passenger cover isnt bolted down all the way, just wanted a pic with the new shiney covers.
White car is my winter beater, and DD when the black car is down. But from spring to fall I daily drive the black one. As long as it's weather permitting, or if there's salt on the roads.
OB.... good times working on the 5.0. lol..... No need to worry. You need the block off plate for that hole in the side of youre timing cover. You will need the block off cover and also (2) studs and (2) nuts. I will go to my dealership tmrw and see if i can get a price on the block off plate and studs and nuts. Make sure you come back to this post and tell me if you got that oil filter adapter on, i hope that tool i gave you worked. UPDATE!!
