I'm new to this site. Read all of the great postings on the Xcalibrator, and you beat me to it. I was just about to post the same link on steeda's website. I just ordered both the tuner and the CAI, so I can't wait. I've got the mod list below, but 1st and 2nd gear are totally worthless, and power drops off at around 4k rpms. Once I install this stuff I let everyone know how it works out.
Cheers - J

green_stang05 and crawlz... let us know how they perform! I think I need to sell more blood before I order... the wife is gonna kill me haha.
Green_stang05... off topic here... how do you like your jba headers with the magnaflow axle-back? I'm thinking about switching out my GT take-off muffler for the magnaflow... have the headers already. btw... I thought the jba headers were the best mod I've done so far... just great sound, plus the extra kick in hp/tq.
hamidlmt .. The magnaflow exhaust is awesome. I love the sound - it's midway between a V8 sound and the european sounding V6 clip they use on the magnaflow website. The JBA headers really open up the sound of the magnaflow - and as someone put it, doesn't have that fartcan sound. I get lots of head turns from the sound alone. I highly recommend you install it on your stang.

$936 Canadian after tax's/shipping for both the Intake AND Xcalibrator thingy VERSION 2 with USB support etc. They say with the new tuner you can hook it up to your laptop via USB and see stuff, dunno what stuff, but STUFF...that is cool.

So a total of somewhere around $700 (after shipping) for the intake and a tuner? No thanks, I'd rather put that money towards paying the car off. That's almost two payments for me!
1 week until I recieve my intake. I am wondering, they claim fuel savings when using the intake with the Xcalibrator. How could something save fuel when the car performs so much more?
BradC - you're right! I have wasted(?) about 10 payments so far, and now I've GOT to save. No worries, I've done all I pretty much want to do for now. It'll give them time to come out with a supercharger specific to the 05 V6. So I probably won't do anything for another 6-8 months, then do springs at same time. That's why I'm hoping there are enough gains by the CAI and Xcal that I will finally be pleased with the amount of power for awhile.
hamidlmt & crawz - UPS tracking says Tuesday. What do you figure, an hour to do it all, right? I'll jam from work early. I can't wait.
hamidlmt - I'm so p'sd . They sent me an Xcal w/ one tune for the CAI, but no CAI. WTF. It took so damn long for the shipment to get here (because they didn't give me any option but ground from FL no less), that they probably can't even prove to themselves that they f'd up, meaning that their stock is off count. Due to time difference I got to wait til tomorrow to try to resolve this.
I guess I will go out and double flash the chip; Stock to CAI back to Stock, then try messing with the ExtremeTune.

Sorry to hear about the trouble green stang. I just ordered my CAI from Steeda over the weekend. I already had Xcal so I had to put the factory program back in so I could ship them the tune and get it set up for the new CAI and also for the exhaust I have on order. I have been talking to Pat and he has been extremely helpful both over the phone and by e'mail. Hope things turn out ok for you. Jim

I'm still waiting, 3rd week now, although it's promised to arrive at my door this monday. The Xcalibrator 2 is in stock but Steeda Canada only gets their hands on the intakes on monday. Ohwell, it's worth the wait!! This kit should blow the pants off of any of the other intakes such as MMR.
I asked Steeda about the gains from an 87 octane tune (gas is gettin' spendy ya know!)
Here's their reply:
With an 87 octane tune, gains would be lower. Only on the 11 to 14 horsepower range. Not the 16-20 of the 91 octane tunes.
That's roughly the same gain as the MMR intake with the high flow tube... MMR told me they're seeing 13 hp without a tune. Of course, the Steeda needs a tune, which will help with other aspects of the car's performance... firming up shift points, etc.
so here is the dyno after the zcalII custom tune with kn drop in and gt muffler. this was shawns first v6 tune and he was impresed how it did. i only wish i had a baseline prior to k &n filter and gt muffler install. he said it made 24 rw torque and that didnt include bolt on adds.
I put one of the Steeda cold air kits on. I could tell an immediate difference. the only issue I had was putting the filter on, it kept slipping off when you tightened down the clamp. I roughed up the smooth ring with a hand file slightly that you tighten the filter on, and it worked perfectly. I was careful to only file away from the edge so I didn't create any cracks where air could escape from. I doubt that would happen at all since you are simply just creating surface scuffing.
