I was on my way home from Orlando and I saw a bike. So I decided to see if he would run me so we went back and forth passing each other and what not. We finally got a nice long stretch with no cars around we were on the Florida Turnpike btw so a lot of room. I gto next to him and motion for him to run he complied and down shifted once. So we both hit it and I pulled him so I slowed down thinking he didn't go and I saw him Downshift again and tuck in. So I hit it again from about 85-110. I started in third gear which was just about 4800rpms. By the time we hit 110 he was at my back bumper. I was stoked and he was pissed he started weaving between cars and I could never catch him again. ZGood run though wish I would have got to talk to him. It was either a CBR 600F4i or CBR 600F4. Kind of dark out at the time .

Nice. 600 bikes aren't that powerful. If you tried him from a stop I don't think you would have kept up.

If you only run 12.9 I don't think you'd keep up either....Teh K&N filtered GT strikes again!

A guy on a Katana 750 or something wants to run me....should be fun. He usually traps around 91-92 mph in the 1/8. I thought that his bike is slow.....the guy you raced must have weighed 2000lbs. 91-92 mph is plenty enough to whoop on a high 12 second car.

yeah, i came up on some cbr's once. i launched like a bastard and i had them for a gear or so. when i was in second, they waved to me. in the twistys though...yeah, you need big nuts to keep up with awd with 1 wheel drive.

even the 88 ninja would pull a 12.5 though, it may have been a 400 or 250.

It was a Honda 600 F4I or F4 so between 2000 and 2003 I think. A bike beats the cars because it is awesome out of the hole. From a 85 mph roll he was not that fast. Honda didn't make a 250 or a 400 in the newer years. On a Katana 750 with your mods you should do well because those things are dogs out of the hole. I had one I would know. I agree from a stop he would have killed me but it was fun.

Good kill. New bikes are fast as crap good thing it was an f4i and not the 600rr. It could have been a diff story. But good kill none the less. And as for the ls1 beating the R1 that was a nice kill as well must have been amazing to see. Do you know the mods on the ls1. Cause R1's are freaking crazy fast. Bikes are known for not pulling that well from a high mph roll though i think. I can not wait to get my bike though. Only a few more months to go.

So if your not blown or have a huge can of n20 im calling bs or the guy wasnt racing you. Even on the freeway a ****in cbr would destroy a GT in 6th gear. Its not even close.

Have you ever raced a bike or owned one. I had a 600 and at higher mph they do not pull as hard. So take that comment and shove it. Why you got to be a dick????

when you race a bike....it is the rider all the way. My friend has a 2000 viper GTS and he races an 02 R-6 allot and beats him all the time but not by much....like a nose. The viper runs 12 flat in the 1/4. I own an 04 R-1 and if I was to race a car it would have to be from 20 to 30 mph start, anything after that isnt a race. As far as from a dig......for get it unless your car can run low 10's high 9's you are SOL.

No i dont own a bike but if youve ever seen sport bike freaks i know a lot of those guys and my best friend has a 600. What kind of 600? The 600 you have has about what 125hp? Lets see here, GT=3500/260=13.5 lbs per hp vs. a honda that weighs maybe 450lbs with rider/125hp =3.6 lbs per hp. And yes i know bikes arent as fast on the high end but at those speeds he still should have left you. Im not tryin to be a dick, fact of the matter is that a bike like that will smoke most cars, and a GT is not even close to a match for a damn cbr 600. I raced one from a 40 roll and he smoked me and i dont think he was even tryin his hardest.

Actually I think they are closer to around 110hp and the weight is about 350lbs dry so a guy weighing 150lbs plus fluids is around 510lbs. But they guy on the bike looked a little bigger so say 200lbs. So that brings us to 560lbs. On my bike I raced a stock vette with my girl on the back. She was about 105lbs I was about 155lbs. I barely beat the vette because of that extra 100lbs. I was only about 50lbs heavier persay that then the guy I raced. Raced another vette by myself and kicked the **** out of him. So seeing as how they are weight tempermental maybe it is possible don't you think. Exspecially seeing we were already going 85mph.

hey all...
Can't believe I'm seeing all these forums about GT's, vettes or just about ANY other car beating a sportbike...even a 600. I've got the red '03 600rr, the bike is faster than just about any STREET-LEGAL car on the road.
The 600 is CRAP off the line, the HP doesn't kick in until about 7500rpm. So you'll beat me across the intersection, but after that you're history-I don't care what you're driving. I've raced vets, trannys, even 1 viper. The viper is the only one that didn't embarass himself.
That one post said the bike downshifted once and hit it-which shows that it's ALL about the rider! If i'm on the road doing 35-40, i could be cruising in 3rd or 4th...just in no hurry. Someone pulls up and wants to run...i'm dropping 3gears down to first and punching it (trying my best to keep the front wheel down). Stock, Fuel-injected 600cc bikes ALL run mid to high 10's. Most liter bikes run high 9's...so unless you've got 650 HP under the hood, don't bother embarrassing yourself trying to race a bike, if you beat him, then you've beaten the rider not the bike!...but hey racing is racing...no matter what you're up against!!
Later all!
