how would u compare the safety of a 05 mustang to a 04 tahoe? trying to convince parents into getting a mustang, safety becomes the issue...

Focus on the fact that SUVs love to roll over.

Mustangs are more manueverable and have a 5 star safety rating.

I don't remember the user but somewhere on here there is a thread about a guy that got rear ended pretty darn hard by a F250 pickup. Basically drove up to the back seat then knocked him in to another car. And he walked away.

it's a better looking car so people will watch it instead of not pay attention to it

i dont see how a mustang could get a 5 star safety rating and a tahoe get a 4...it just seems that the bigger car would have a safer rating, right?

SUV's always have that rollover factor, but you are statisically more likely to survive in a larger vehicle.

although the '05 Mustang does have a 5 star safety rating in multiple categories.

2_Stangs was hit by a mini van at about 40 mph. His car was totalled and he walked away from the accident unharmed. You might check the story in the forum history.

Yea, a Mini Van plowed into me doing over 50 and sandwhiched me with the SUV infront of me. I had stopped for the accident that the SUV had gotten into. I was on the highway.(Or freeway, depending what part of the country you are from.) I was the first one out of any of the vehicles. Granted, I had to kick my door out, but I walked away.

The car is designed to crumple around the interior of the car. Anyone sitting inside of my car would have walked away. Now, if they were in the trunk or engine compartment, that's another story.

I am bought another one because I like the car so much, and two because that thing is so safe. I recommend it to every father who needs a family car. (Tell the Wife it sits 5, and is safe.)
