I've had 3 'Stangs, a 96 GT Auto, 99 Cobra, and 05 GT Vert Manual... I just think the manual is more enjoyable. Not because I want to race, (road or drag) and not because I enjoy driving a MT in traffic, (I effing HATE it), but because it is more fun to have more control over what my car is doing.

I bought a manual... Mainly because I prefer it but I also have 3 teenaged kids and I have taught none of them know how to drive a standard and I plan on prolonging that as long as I can. This way they have no business asking to drive my car and even if they do all I have to say is "you can't drive a standard"... I can add my wife into that group as well...

The only time I would ever even consider that statement to be true would be in slippery conditions. Rain, snow, etc

? What does that mean? The only time you would ever think it was more fun to have more control over what your car is doing is in slippery conditions? Or the manual is more enjoyable in slippery conditions? I enjoy driving MT in traffic only in slippery conditions? Or is it I had 3 stangs only in slippery conditions??

Man I sure will be happy when you get your car I am tired of looking at that dumb stuffed animal in your avatar.
LOL, maybe if we keep it off topic nobody will pay attention to us anymore. Next time someone brings up auto vs. stick we break out the torches and pitchforks. What a sweet color Mustang by the way.

Next time we see another "manual or automatic" post, let's play dumb and act like we don't know the difference and try to get the thread-starter to explain them. And, then keep following up with ridiculously obvious or questions, like: "On a 5-speed manual, is Reverse considered one of the 5 speeds?" or "Where is Park on a manual?" or "Where is a throw-out bearing on an automatic?".
