Tony, the car looks great. I just switched my exhuast to loud-mouth. I definitely recommend it.
Thanks for the comp. I'm glad you decided to give them a try. I will buy me some as soon as some more green backs come rolling in. Oh by the way, if you find any, i'm collecting hundred dollar bills. It's kind of a hobby of mine. So far I haven't found any but i'm looking.

If ur looking to buy one drive them both. Motor trend said that the 5 speed will run 0-60 in 5.1 seconds. Then in the little colum on the side they said the auto will probably be 4.8 or 4.9 seconds to 60. Also 3.55 and 3.37 gears are not that much of a differance. If the manual was runnin 3.73 and the auto 3.27s then the 5 speed would be quicker. The sad truth is, america is getting lazy and buying automatics, so car companies need them to shift faster. Thats just the way it is. I agree though that it is more fun to drive a stick. DD=auto, fun car=stick.

I'm looking for some of those bills myself. I found the rims I want yesterday. Unfortunately they are more $ than I got.

I was, and still am, totally impressed by the automatic tranny. The acceleration is great, when you're not in the throttle it feels like the car will glide forever.
When I was looking I definitely thought I wanted a 5 speed, but driving the auto changed my mind. It works for me. Although my daughter's boyfriend scoffed that I bought an auto, he just doesn't have the choice, couldn't afford either.

I'm going with manual personally... my current car is an auto that I've had for 5 years and it's nice, but I feel like I have to baby it a lot, or accelerate juuuuust right to keep it in the gear I want. Nothing more annoying than hitting the accelerator a touch too hard causing it to downshifting the auto for only a few seconds because you didn't want it to downshift it the first place. I really miss having a clutch, I miss the fun of driving it even though I suck at it, the control (maybe I'm just anal?), but I feel like I can also push it harder without breaking it.
If you don't own an Auto how can you speak intelligently about one?
I've driven one that's how. I sure hope your auto with 4.10's and a flash can beat my manual. You would look like quite an ass if it didn't. I ran a 2.0 60' STOCK and I can to better with my manual.

I had an AT, and I enjoyed the ease of driving it for about two weeks, then I got upset that I didn't have a MT, because I have driven a MT for the Past 9 years. I actually started driving my Truck which is MT again more often.
I deal with the worst SoCal traffic around, just ask Don, he deals with half of what I have to deal with. My first 05' was totalled, so I now have a MT, don't make my mistake, get the MT from the start.
BTW, I will be using mine as a daily driver, because I don't think I will want to drive my truck.
If your car is going to be a city car. Then auto is the way to go!!!! Stop sign after stop light it gets annoying always having to switch gears. If your going to have it be your showing off car and take out to go highway fast, then manual is the way to go. But that's just my opinion I'm getting an automatic.

If you drove an 05 Auto GT then you would know they shift at 6000 RPM which is just under redline. Mine went 2.0 stock. Take a look at 757GT's time he went 13.80. When I was at the track no stick 05 went better than 14.30. You put 4.10's and a flash with CAI on yours and with stock tires I bet I beat you. Mine only has a 1000 miles on the new engine replaced under warranty and went 13.41. With 10,000 miles on it I know it would be a 13 flat if not 12.90. The reason I jumped back on you was from the words you wrote. It sounded like you never drove an 05 Auto GT and I'm still not convinced you have.

I personally dont give a flying flip what the 1/4 mi or 0-60 time differences are between the MT and the AT. It is an impractical comparision for most people who buy these cars.
For me, I am getting a MT because it is much more enjoyable for me to change gears when I want or need to based on the situation at the time. The driving experience is much more hands on...puts me in control. Thats why racing cars dont use AT. For me at least, this purchase is all about me wanting to "drive" the mustang and that means much more than putting two hands on the wheel. To really "drive" a car it takes the full co-ordination of mind, both hands and both feet. Now, if you are a one eyed, one legged and one armed man, by all means go with the AT. When you drive a sports/racing car hard and play with the gears, there is no thrill like it! Thats why I am getting the mustang GT, dropping in the S/C and upgrading the suspension. For around 40k I will own a new 450HP sports car and want to have fun with it...not just toddle along in traffic.
On the other hand, if you just need a daily driver and will be sitting in freeways most of the time...go with the auto - or just get a buick
My car is a city car - surface streets to & from work with weekend drives to the twisties - LA traffic anytime I go anywhere. I have a manual, and there's no way I would trade it for an auto.

I really did. It just felt laggy to me. I'm sure the computer flash fixed that for you though. Stock vs. stock the manual is better. The manual is also more fun.

My Z06 is a manual and I love it the Mustang is an auto and I love it. Sometimes, it is a pain to have a manual, if you are an honest MT you will admit it. Sometimes it is a pain to have an auto, if you are an honest AT you will admit it. Driving a Mustang is a blast whether it is a MT or an AT. Don't buy into the real drivers have MTs. Real drivers are at Darlington, the Brickyard, and Daytona not here.
