Just got back from my first car show with my 2005 Saleen - and took first place in the '94+ Saleen category! Fealt pretty good to have people appreciate your ride - but I was a little suprised as there were some very nice previous-gen Speedsters that looked very good - includind a couple of very nice guys in the SCOA. I enjoyed meeting them and look forward to joining the club and seeing them (and more) at the National Show in Jeffersonville, IN. There were also some very nice 85-93 Saleens there as well - about 15 or so all together. This was an all Ford show (Cobras, Shelby's, Mach I's, 'Stang Cobras, Tigers and more). I took 90 pics and can zip it down to 7MB if you're high speed can handle it [8D]
PM me if you are interested in seeing the pics - it was a great day and 250 or so VERY NICE Mustangs!!!
If you are into the car show scene, get your 2005 out there soon - you'll love the attention And if you are in the midwest and like to travel for shows I would highly recommend you come to Nashville, IN next year for the 29th Annual Shelby/Ford Spring Fling. Cars came from well over 400 miles away. I was VERY impressed and look forward to it already!
Congrats on the win.Your car looks great, can't wait till mine comes in.Oh bye the way, did you have your windows tinted.I order a mineral gray SC and I think it would look good.
David_K - if your S-15 looks as good in person as it does in the pics I've seen, then you stay away JK - you should bring it to Nashville next year. I would love to see it and I'm sure all the other Saleen enthusiasts would too!
Yes my S281 is all original. After the warranty is over in a few years I may add quality headers and a off-road H or X pipe system - but until then it will remain 100% stock.
Pea Head - yes the windows are tinted. I probably would NOT have done it, the dealer did it prior to my purchase. It looks good, but I only plan to cruise/show this car (windows down of course) in nice weather and always park in the garage - so the tint is not necessary for me.
i think your car is bitch'in. i go to bowling green for the buick grand nationals show every may. it was actually last weekend. so i might come up there man. i just need to get the wheels repainted.

I bet you are referring to Charlie and my buddy Tony. Charlie has the white speedster and Tony has the 99-0008 Red Speedster. Tony mentioned that there was a new 05 Saleen that took first place in that class.....Congrats on the trophy and the car, it looks sweet. You'll see all the same people and many new faces at the National Show in August.
