Default Resetting or turning back digital odometers?

I know on 98 and older Mustangs they have the dial odometers, so I was wondering what I would have to go about doing to reset or turn back my digital odometer? Any tips/procedures would be greatly appreciated.

I'd have to examine the schematic. There should be a point inthere that can be momentarily shorted, resetting the counter.

^^HAHA. We might be more willing to help if you told us what this was for? Because right now you look like your trying to do something illegal.

Well you see, my car has 196,xxx kms. I know its illegal and I could get in huge doo doo if I get caught for it but Ill worry about that when I get caught. I just want to knock the odometer 100,000 kms or so, just in case I total my car or sell it. You know get more money than its actually worth. Everyone around my town does this to older vehicles with the dial odometer and no one seems to give a damn. I dont see why you guys cant just tell me how to do it instead of being all "what is it for? and do you know its illegal?" If someone asked me and I knew how to do it I wouldnt hesitate and show them how its done.

Do I sound like the type of guy that cares that he will get in trouble at the moment? No. And I dont ever plan on selling my Stang and Im parking it in my parents garage for the next few years so I wont have to worry about totalling it off. So if you could please tell me how to accomplish the task that I want to do that would be awesome, if not, ill just go on Google or buy a whole new ECU.
