Going to pay a bill today, I come out of my neighborhood onto hiway 50. I get on it a little to get around a car transport truck and I see a dark car coming up behind me pretty quick. At first I thought it was the popo but when he got closer I could tell it was a Pontiac GTO. He pulled along side and told me my car sounded nice. I gave him a thumbs up and we went from about 50 mph, We were both in 3rd, and I pulled about 1.5 to 2 cars on him up to 100. We pulled over and BS'd for about an hour. He was a really cool dude. His car was an 05, LS2, dark metallic blue. His mods were a K&N filter, long tube headers, and mid-pipe. I asked him if he could hear the Kenne Bell, but he said all he could hear was my exhaust. We raced 3 more times, once from a 25-30 mph roll, (pulled about 1/2 car length, he missed 3rd) and I was gone. Then from 45-50 two more times. I beat him by 1-2 cars each time up to 100ish. If we would have gone past 120 he would have probably reeled me in because of my 4:10's, but it felt good to beat a car with 1.4 more liters (85 cubic inch) and more flywheel horsepower.
Thank you Kenne Bell for your big fat flat table-like torque curve.[/align]
I bought the non i/c 6 lb kit. I've almost got enough saved to get the intercooler and 9 or 10 lb pulley.
I've got shorty headers, Mac prochamber, Mac catback, Tuneable induction cai, 90 mm maf, 70 mm t/b, Centerforce d/f clutch, Steeda Tri-ax, H P Motorsport subframe connectors and lca's, FRPP 4:10 gears.
In the quarter I'm still in 4th gear. I can do about 115 in 4th. I have the rev limiter raised300 rpm.
Couldn't you have just thown a shot of juice on there and made the same power for a fraction of the cost?
I made 400 rwhp on my '00 GT with a Vortech and no intercooler. I did have a meth kit though.
Get that intercooler and ramp up the boost. Then you will be really thanking Kenne Bell.
I could have juiced it, but I don't have to refill Kenne Bell, plus I got rid of my craplastic intake.
I figure 9 lbs intercooled should be right at 400 rwhp.
