Default Trying to clean up my GF's Explorer

So I was hanging out with my girl yesterday when I noticed she doesnt take care of her car at all. Shes got tree sap on her hood thats been there for months and apparently she hit a spray paint can on the highway and theres little bits of white spray on the back of the car.

Now I read that if I use clay bar on the tree sap it will scratch the crap out of it and since its a black car I really dont want to use rubbing compound so how might I go about getting that off?

And would the clay bar get the paint off?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I ran through some paint when I first got my 94 and I'm pretty sure it was clay bar that they used to remove it.

Not exactly sure about the tree sap. I know I'd probably try to take it off a little at a time.

Do you have a PC? That would probably work best.

poter cable buffer is what he ment by pc

clay bar will not scratch the paint and with the tree sap as long as you keep folding the clay you will have no problems

the paint you can take some of it off with the clay but you might try some mineral spirts and wipe it do not use alot of it just a small amount at a time

For tree sap, I've found that Stoner Tarminator works really well. The Tarminator will soften the sap and it will wipe off pretty easily.
