I would hope a cobra would pull on a GTO in 5th or 6th gear. Both those gears are overdrive. My wifes ford taurus will pull on my camaro when I'm in 6th gear to. Nobody races in overdrive, if they do they are going to lose. Why is it when I see stuff about races posted people always talk about racing in 5th or 6th gear. If I can't beat them from 1st to 4th gear, I'll give up. I know I'm not going to catch them when I shift to 5th then 6th. Some people think those gears are for all out performance. In reality your engine slows way down and you lose speed. 6th gear in my camaro helps me get 30mpg's. If someone wants to run' em I downshift to 2nd or 3rd.

I thought you said they both were good drivers??? the driver in the goat can't driver for **** (His bad launch & premuture shift to second while still spinning in first shows that) but by the looks stock vs stock its a drivers race because that cobra did not pull on him and he was swingin the tail and layin down rubber for at least 200ft...

You guys need to stop underestamating him (or me for that matter) he has drivin more high performance cars than I dare to count. Now I am not saying the GTO will beat a stock Cobra, I need to see this car at the track first, but I will say it would be a very close run, esp. from a roll. It's funny you own one somewhat fast car and now you know everything.
Oh yea and the car WILL be at the track very very soon, I mean it's not even broken in yet, it barley has 500 miles on it, and it looks like rain for us all weekend. I bet almost none of you guys would have the sack to take a brand new car to the track and beat the hell out of it, after having it for only a week.

GTO would look sick with some fat tires in the rear and a heffer of a cowl hood  . I like 'em. What kina rear end do they have? Im sure that 6.0 LS2 is going to have some hellified potential too. Some N20 on that thing and snakes everywhere would be hiding  .

its too hard to really know, id say drivers race. but you guys are being idiots, give him a break, id trade a GT in for a 05 goat ANYDAY. i dont overly like the look, wish they would of went more retro, but 6.0 400hp n/a you gotta respect that shizat. and you never know, my bolt on 5.0 beat a 03 cobra tonight! LOL. he couldnt drive smoked the rears. anyways, at least he still keeps his gt in his sig pic.. i think thats pretty cool. anyways Dan if ur interested ina Sig post some pics up in Chop Shop and we could make u a cool one lol, your two pics just seem a little out of place to me, later.

Which part did you miss? The fact that your similar weight and power car might not just run away from the GTO? I don't think it will. You're cocky with your Cobra because it's got a blower and nothing can possibly touch it....

YOU did say that from a roll you would kick the **** out of a cobra didnt you? sounds pretty cocky to me. especially since its too new to race. i posted a slip, i will get a vid for you and i will be posting it just for you. dont get all pissy at me cuz i said you wouldnt beat my cobra from a roll, thats basically all i said and you turned into a little bitch, get over it buddy. when the goats safely broken in, take her to the track, and see how she does before you start saying things like kick the **** out of a cobra. for 98LS1, i'll get a vid for you too.
im not underestimating anything, i think you gm guys are doing all the underestimating. he's got the same power as a stock cobra, weigh close, he should run pretty good. but i dont want to hear any excuses when he cant get anything better then 13.3 in stock trim.

I never said any of that, but I would like a slip with a MPH on it, you said yourself that the clocks were acting funny that night. I just would'nt trust the time if timing system had problems.

I don't get how you think it would not be a good run, the cars a similar weight, similar power. I don't think he would "kick the **** of the Cobra" but I do think he has chance of beating one. Look I like Cobras they are great cars and can be very fast with minimal work, but they are not the end all be all of automotive performance (neither are the LS1/LS2 based cars). I am done with this silly argument till we get a time on the car.
