he is short EWP, TB and a few other lil things that wont make any noticeable HP. that is what i meant by not full bolt on. should have clarified that earlier, but just wanted to say what i did. i have only known him to run the 100 shot on d/r and ran an 11.5@122. well OSW is not the greatest track, but sometimes its not bad. from what i have heard bradenton is a better track. from orlando east on 50 it is 20 minutes. yes it is on 50. do u post on fuelslut.net?
hey black04......i have just been reading this thread since it started. at first i didnt say anything cuz i didnt know facts on what was goin on. once i started reading that lsx cant run certain times, i decided to put a lil more info for u guys on the table.

i didnt think u meant it in a bad way, just didnt know exactly what u refering to when u said it!

if he dynoed 315 stock, and what 350somethin now, those lil things are working pretty good id say. i finally got DR's, so i am anxious to see what i get. as you know, its been raining all over central fl lately. i went to gainesville last friday, drove all the way up there, calling the track every 20 min to make sure they were running, and wouldnt you know, as soon as i pull up, it starts raining balls!!! pissed. im hoping to get 11.7, maybe better now......we'll see. i'll have a camera w/ me the next time me and 01GT go to the track.
lol, where did i come from well i didnt say much on how he got to run better then the 11.99 of the cobra. but the cobras that he beat, he beat N/A. he has a 150 shot on top of that. low low 12 on motor, add spray to that = do the math FWIW there are a few cam only LS1 trapping 125+ in the qtr, plenty of bolt-on cars running 115-119 traps. and them are not imaginary times
the way you described his car seemed like it was nearly stock. what mods does he have to get him into 'low low 12 on motor'? what do you think he will run on spray? low low 11's?
Chris98, what happened at the dyno? you got some guys dynoing more then that completely stock? id be pissed.
Well 01-02 six speeds have been know to put down 315-320 stock, but 98's have different cast heads and exhaust manifolds that don't flow as well 01's and 02's also have the LS6 intake. Six speeds also don't lose as much power thru the drive train 15% to the Auto's 20%, and finally my stall takes away power on the dyno. Auto's are very rarely dyno queens they usually put up the better numbers at the track. I was just showing how 309 rhwp and 325tq got me into the 12's spinning the tires off the line.

What DR's did you get? Didn't you go 1.8x on street tires? Best I've seen any stock IRS Cobra go is like 1.73....which will still knock a couple tenths off your time.
Good luck hooking with Nitto's. I ususally go 1.70+. I did go 1.66 one time on them though. They're not the best tires in the world, but they hook decent. I wished you lived near here. Should be a neck and neck run for me on motor. Would make a GREAT video.
heh.. the cobra's are underrated like crazy, i've seen them put down 400RWHP with JUST catback, 425RWHP with JUST K&N filter and catback. doesn't the gto weigh a lot more than the cobra too? i'd say the cobra would easily get him.
what?!?! are you seriously saying that a cobra put down 425 WHEEL hp with those two mods? I am by no means a cobra expert but that seems kind of ambitious.

Nope thats about right we had one here put down 411rwp with just exhaust. Forced induction cars benefit from bolts ons alot better than NA cars do. Bolt ons simply open FI cars up alot easier.

Personally I have been a Chevy man all my life but I recently bought a 89 GT that I plan to take into the 11's, the reason i didnt buy the F-body was because I dont like the idea of dropping the frame out for engine swaps(I am a ase certified master tech)(I look for something easy to work on with my time off), and they are basically harder to work on than mustangs, there is no where near the aftermarket support(yet), and in my opinion GM has left all us chevy guys hanging. Plus I am looking to set my car up for handling as well and again the aftermarket in that area is lacking for the f-bodies. GM recently killed off the rear platform cars they were planning on releasing and the GTO is on its way out as well after the 07 year. Other than the VETTE which I cant afford and even if I could I wouldnt buy it anyway, their(chevy) 2nd fastest car is the Cobalt SS 4 banger supercharged that runs mid to low 14's(according to the mags) with a nice little 25k price tag, no thanks. My grandfather worked at GM all his life and I went to a GM techinical school for 4 years. They wonder why they are losing boatloads of money? Look at the 05 stang. The car is beutiful and affordable. That is where GM got off track, they dont make cars people want. The mustang has outsold the camaro 2 or 3 to 1 every year from the mid 90's on.
I know this is a little off topic, but I felt like venting. I still have 3 chevys, and I will always be faithful to them in some degree but they need to get their head of their a**'s.
Also SLP the guys that helped the camaro SS along has a kit for the 03-04 Cobra that puts it at 575hp for less than 3k(goto slponline.com). That a pretty good gain for not a lot of money, and I would think that would give many many cars on the steet all kinds of something they cant handle.
The only thing that Ford might have gotten off track a little was dropping the pushrods and messing with a underdisplaced engine. If they would have tweaked the 351 like chevy tweaked the 350 all these years they would probably have a cobra pushing over 400hp w/o a blower easily. But on the othey hand they do pretty well with the technology and the smaller engine. Im just making the comment that while the LS1 is way advanced to say a pre lt1 small block they are still in the 'stone age' in some respects. Which i have nothing against but Ford is doing more with less. The 3 valve 300 horse GT is pretty good for its size, and we know more hp will come.
