Default NEW SALEEN EXTREME INTAKE

I just got my Saleen Extreme Cold Air intake this is a nice piece, I will take pictures and post them when installed, I am waiting on my updated tune...

I was running the JDM cold air, lighting mass air flow, and extreme inlet tube, this intake will need a new home after I get everything installed...

Sorts of sucks changing my mind after 3K miles but you know how the change, mod, and upgrade bug goes...

It looks smaller, but sleaker than the old extreme tube...can it really be more efficient? And if so, maybe only a few horses?

I wonder if the Saleen intake has a different sound and tone than the JDM intake set up. When I changed to the JDM setup and 3.4" pulley, I noticed a big difference in sound. The supercharger makes an erie whining sound but I think it is a cool sound. I would imagine the Saleen intake is quieter being more of an OEM part.

We will see about the soundas soon as I geta revisedtune from JDM, they said about 5hp more...

I bought it for looks not for the HP increase, the JDM is a nice piece and does its job very well thoughit does not look like it belongs under the hood (out of place)...

It is still open on the bottom with what seems to be a washable conical filter...

I have had the '08 Extremeair kiton for about a month now. IMO it is a very well-designed piece that fits perfectly and looks slick but like it belongs there. I can not isolate any performance improvement it is responsible for, as I had a pulley change and other upgrades at the same time, but I can say that my IATs went down slightly and I am super happy with the way my car performs.

As far as sound, it is all good. Throaty, but with some (good) s/c whine in the mix too.

New intake and tune in, all is good...

I have full JDM cold air intake, saleen extreme inlet tube, and mass air flow looking for a good home...

The only reason I changed was for looks, the JDM works well and is a very good unit...

Check out this Techco Cold air tube, looks really nice and it gets rid of the restrictive stock Airbox. http://www.techcointl.com/Engine-Components-s/2.htm
