Default GT500 JLT CAI, how well does it fit?

I waswondering if the JLT CAI for the GT500 rubs the strut tower brace or anywhere else? Has anyone using it had any fitment issues with it? I am seriously considering buying one, but I want to make sure that I wont have any rubbing or other fitment issues with it before I buy it. I like the way it looks and have heard that it makes good power but I want to make sure that it fits rightbefore I buy. There is nothing that I hate more than to buy an aftermarket part to improve my car, only for it to turn out to not fit or work correctly. It just leaves me filling like I cheapened my car rather than improving it.

Thanks for any info.

I had some fitment issues when I first installed my JLT. Theresome installation tipsto make it a good fit. Once I knew how to install it, it fits like a glove. I read on another forumthat the latest carbon fiber pieces have a little more dip in them to accomodate the strut tower brace. The problem is that the enclosed instructions are not specific enough. I called JLT, and they helped me out. Jay is a super guy and goes out of his way to assist. That aside, it is the best CAI I have ever owned. I would definitely buy from them again.

I have heard and read the same thing mullens said. and Jay goes on the svt forum and is a very helpful person. I heard they have improved the dip as well as the heat shield for a better fit. If you like the look of it, you definitely can not go wrong with JLT at all...if you are interested I know a guy on the other forum that is selling his CHEAP...like $300...looks like new and has both the shields etc...he is selling his jsut because like some of us here he likes the look of the FRRP cai better....

Yea it's Chuckstang on the SVT forums. It's in really good shape from the pics with a new red CF piece. (Maybe he'll take $200!)

Thanks guy's, but I need a Blue or Black Carbon Fiber tube since my car is White with Blue stripes.

Do you guys happen to know where I can find a link to the forum that you mentioned about the Carbon Fiber having more of dip in the new JLT intakes? I would like to read more about it.

Thanks.

Here you go. Lots of info including Chuck's for sale post. Pay particular attention to Tucker's comments. That's JLT.
