Default SHORTY HEADERS VS EQUALLENGTH HEADERS

I'm looking to do a cam ,not sur which one yet, change and have my 93 cobra heads gasket match the exhaust ported .My mac 1 1/2 nickel plated equal lengt are starting to rust after 10 years .I'm going to replace them with the mac ceramic 1 5/8 shorties or the 1 5/8 equal length.Which header will produce the most power between shorty and equal length shorty headers????

Long tube headers are always better on the hp numbers. If you are up for the challenge of putting them in. I just did mine last weekend , with a hoist and a friend , it was a pain.If you like wrenching its worth it. If you dont go with the shortys.

Equal lenght produce more power but you also have less room to work. I think they do interfere with the stock steering shaft. I know alot have upgraded to flaming rivers shaft or maximum motorsports steering shaft. Also there is less room to work with the spark plugs. They can also be somewhat of a headache.

Equal length headers are just not worth it... Dont waste your time on messing around with them. The very small difference could be made up else where. Get a quality set of regular shorty headers or get a quality set of longtubes. Forget the equal length shorties.
