Why not? he beats highly modified LS1s on a daily basis. A few races before the E55, he was spanking a yellow WS6 owned by the guy who edits those videos (98snakeeater)
what get's me here all the people who think they can drive.....I wish I could get a group rate for the frank holley driving school... there are cars with 800+ hp on drag radials that don't spin all over the place. how many here power shift at 6500-7000K on all 5 gears?...a few...I do it in t-5 's I have yet gernaded 1 yet (crossing fingers)...the boy loss plain and simple...if he wants to race then practice and come back and do his things but for us to say if I-me was driving is like being a back seat driver at this point wouldn't ya say

i hear you i do the same thing and have yet to dump a tranny. i just dont know about these people and the driving skills. i guess some just wanna be and we, well ya know.

vfast - When I feel like it I can avoid spinning the tires. It's just I don't get anywhere fast until 3rd gear (and I don't powershift 3, 4, or 5, I'm afraid). But I want to wear out the kumhos and get a set of drag radials. Then we'll see. :)

Did you watch the video? it lists the mods and they gave him a dyno run at 459 rwhp. (in the first video)
The E55 is faster...so what ?? the Cobra is still respectable.
This modified Cobra only proves anyone is beatable, it wasnt the Mustang drivers poor driving at all...he was outclassed by a very expensive car, all you non-believers would say it was a poor driving even if a top-fuel dragster beat him...lol
Needless to say had this been an oval track the Benz would have really busted chops on the stang.
I was talking about stock cars, I've seen the video and the modes done to the Cobra before my post, what I meant is the Cobra lost to a very expensive car, sad but no shame in losing to a car with that sticker price, and don't forget the Cobra weights about 3800lb, with 4.6L engine, while the E55 weight is 4200lb, not that far, and has 5.5L + electronics you only dream of.
Here is some performance numbers(Car&Driver Magazine):
E55 AMG:
0-60: 4.2sec
0-100: 9.8sec
0-150: 22.5sec
1/4mile: 12.3sec@(don't remember)
Top speed: 187m/h(with speed limiter!! Road&Track)
2001 Viper GTS:
0-60: 3.9sec
0-100: 8.9sec
0-150: 22.3sec
1/4mile: 12.2sec@(does it matter?)
Top speed: 186m/h-192m/h(various magazines)

well if you noticed in the second rematch the cobra DID MUCH BETTER.... so either he needed tires or he was just outclassed sorry to say. But i mean those mercedes when getting up to high dollar are pretty quick so its no doubt the cobra had gotten beat

Lets just keep it simple, the Merecedes won both heats. Cobras are very beatable by several cars, I love Cobras dont take me wrong, but keep your head on straight & remember there is always a faster car....always !!!

Its still going back to the dealer asap, its definately a weak stang, you can tell when you drive 2 different GT's. I wont claim its my poor driving or bad tires if a a guy beats me though. I will credit the other car and take it like a professional.
I run a no excuses program, you lose its your fault...simple and easy....no side talk about all the reasons you "coulda" won...lol, take a loss like a man or buy a weiner car !
