Default LT install question

Ok I ended up not helping with the install, my buddy and the master tech at ford are doing it. Anyways the EGR is completly shot so I had to order a new one which wont arrive until monday or tuesday. But they ran into an issue with the steering shaft, Ill copy and paste exactly what my buddy said...

"the steering shaft goes through the firewall and into the steering column. I need to know if you have to remove it completely. Or if there is some way to get it through the LT while being able to snake it in."

"so i need to know if there is an angle, or a way to come in that it will fit...or if you have to take it out, and slide it up through the bottom. The shaft wont flex enough to get it started in the pipe"

So is there a way to flex or snake in the steering shaft through the LT or does the steering shaft have to be removed and then slid in through the LT? They are pypes LT's and they are going on a 2000 mustang GT

If you would have gotten the BBK's you wouldn't have this problem. If the shaft has to go through the header though you most likely will have to take the whole shaft out. I hope I'm wrong.

ERG? We Dont need ono stinking EGR!

I've taken it out on a couple installs. It make for more room even if you don't need to feed it through the header. It takes 15 minutes to unhook it if you're slow like me. I would suggest he gets a knuckle that has a smaller diameter. I've seen them before I just don't know where.
