How much power can you get out of a 4.6 by putting new internals in it. Im thinking of doing this for my enigeering project in school next year. But i wouldn't be allowed to supercharge or turbocharge. But the internals and heads and suh are all fair game. And what are some brands/parts that would be good to use?
well if you up your compression you will gain horsepower but if you leave the compression alone you wont gain power. but if you do heads, you will gain a good amount of horsepower along with cams. but just forging the internals with no adjustments to compression wont really yield much improvements.

yeah I have forged internals a little bit over stock compression and the car just feels better but it doesnt give crazy hp unless you up compression or do cams like teej281 said above

do not go that crazy. lol id say just a nice 11-12:1 compression motor with a nice set of heads and cams will be a nice monster that is over 300 wheel horsepower.

smaller dish on the pistons, combustion chamber size, thinner head gasket. those are all i can think of at the moment...if they are all right. lol
