My friend and I have been talking about saleen's lately, he has this '96 SVT Cobra and he was thinking of selling it for a more powerful stock car, since he has a lot saved up. Anyways I was wondering if anybody knew which one had the most power all stock. And the year would be helpful.

Well, the S351 on paper is the most powerful. The last year the S351 was produced was 99, rated at 495 hp. Getting an S281E might also be a good way to go. Made from 02 on, the S281E made 445 hp in 04 and will make 500 in 05. If you were going to buy a used S351, I would try to find a later model one, 98 or 99 if possible. I prefer the 99 S351 because of the body change that was done in 99. The S281E's made were more refined than the 351's, and more streetable. The S351 used a 351 ci block with a Vortech centrifugal blower. The S281E's used an all aluminum built 4.6 with a twin screw blower. You couldn't possibly go wrong with either model.
