Default main girdle problems suggestions and recommendations.

So i'm installing my main girdle from the bottom...already a PITA. But it looks like thre isn't enough room to clear between the oil pump and the girdle/the stud itself.

So do I just run a bolt for that one side of the front main? Or notch out the pump a little or what?

people have ground on the girdle and pump, when i saw how much was gonna have to be taken off, i said forget it. and too be honest, you dont need a girdle, all it does it keep the the rot. assm. together if the block splits.

if you have questions about this, pm me and ill be glad to enlighten.

imo i wasnt going to take the chance and grind on the oil pump, and the pan hit it anyways so i said forget it.

Any of the better girdles will have a unique stud for that #1 main cap. Is it a cheap ebay one? Also how thick is the girdle itself. I will tell you something you dont want to hear

trace the bottom of the pump where it bolts to the block on a 1/8 thick peice of aluminum use 2 gaskets. might have to adjust oilpumpshaft retainer clip, worked great for d.s.s girdle
