I just got mine as well, the one thing I've noticed in the rain is that the traction control in the car is almost dangerous to have on, It seems to limit the car so much for the sake of traction that getting onto the highway (especially if your anywhere near Rt. 4 in NJ) is like taking your life in your hands. For me I've found that shutting it off helps a lot, as long as you know how to control the car, as like you said they do slide around quite easily. Id imagine a sandbag might help in the rain as well. if you tell the year of your car, you might get more specific feedback. Enjoy the car.
i have a 2006v6 as well and also live in new jersey. the snow out here can be crazy. i would sugguest not driving it in the snow at all if you can help it, but if you have to yes put sand bags in the trunk and take it very slow. also in the rain yes be careful it WILL fish tail if you take it too fast especially around a wet corner. also watch out for cops they love mustangs, i dont ever speed but they pull me over for my tint. my car is black and i have 25% tint so watch out for that if you do decide to tint it.

Like you, I just bought my V6 Mustang, but I drove a V6 Thunderbird up to a few years ago. I have also driven relative's and friends' Mustangs before as well. When I say driven I mean I drove the vehicles I stated in all weather conditions, hot summer days, rain, sleet, and snow. My Thunderbird in snow handled almost the same as every Mustang I drove in the same conditions...horrible. If it is snowing out, you can drive it, but don't accelerate too fast. I did a 360 coming from an on-ramp onto a highway before in Michigan when it was snowing out and I accelerated too fast. Scary. Throw weight in the trunk and it will be ok. Not great. Not good. Just ok. If it snows a lot out, say overnight, don't expect to be able to back out driving over the snow. It won't happen. You'll have to shovel a path out for the vehicle. And even then I had to use some rubber floor mats for traction to back it out. That was with weight in the back and all weather tires on it while going super slow.
