Default Lowering 08 mustang GT

Hi,

I just purchased an 08 mustang GT and put 20" wheels on it. I would like for the car to be lower so it would look good. Do lowering springs affect comfort? I want to drop my car probably 1.5 ", any springs that will do that and maybe increase comfortability?

Default RE: Lowering 08 mustang GT

Lowering springs do affect ride comfort, yes. Most lowering springs use a stiffer spring rating.

My suggestion is to install aftermarket shocks & struts, at the same time you install the springs, if you want to maintain maximum comfort. The aftermarket shocks will help dampen the new and stiffer spring rating.

I would make sure you do two things...
[ol][*]Go with a lowering spring which has a soft, progressive spring rating... such as the Eibach Pro-Kit for example. This way you'll make sure that comfort is still maintained.[*]Purchase a good set of aftermarket shocks & struts to match up with the springs. Such as the Tokico HP Shocks & Struts. These will help dampen the movement.[/ol]
Let me know if you have any more questions!
