Default Future Crapmaro lovers

I meandered on over to one of the gm forums and was amazed at how people are in love with a car that won't exist for another year.

What's the deal with GM, 5 years as a concept car? I remember seeing the first concept in person way back in 04. Ford typically goes from IDEA TO PRODUCTION in 5 years, not 5 years of concept after several years of engineering for ONE CAR!

On top if that, with the way the dealerships seem to think, most typical camaro owners won't be able to afford the dealer markup for at least another year or 2. So that means they will have waiting 8 years since the first pics of a real concept ever came out to buy the car. WOW. I'm already tired of the body style, it's played out on GM's other models already. The design concept is a few years old on the caddys as it is, plus all the "edgy-ness" they've been using on the crap-a-lanch and the Crapscalade. It'll be a tired worn out design 6 months before they even show up to the dealers.

What are your thoughts?

I also forgot to mention that the concept still has yet to get a radio of any kind, and the throw on the crazy shifter is about 4 1/2ft

Its one thing seeing it posted on the internet 500 times a day

but i bet when you see it IRL it will be a bit better.

In the end though if it really bothers you SO MUCH, why the do you care?

That's just it, I HAVE seen it in person, I've touched it, 4 years ago at a car show in Houston.

I don't care that much, but this is OT, so I can rant about whatever I want [sm=smiley17.gif]

I am anxious to actually seethe new Camaroson the road, but it does seem that GM has taken quite some time to get it into production. They may very well havemissed that 'pony car' window ,that has been open and pretty much exclusive to the mustang during the past few years. The Camaro might come to the party late and steal the show, but it is going to have some healthy competition and the danger of possibly being too late to make up for lost time.

By the time the Camaro hits the showrooms, buyers may quickly forget how long they waited.....if the wait was worth it. Time will tell. We'll see if patience pays off for GM and for potential buyers.

I do think that if the roleswere reversed (alternate reality)and we were talking about the comeback of the Mustang, you would find similar things occurring on Ford sites.

If yall look closely, you will quickly notice,

from the side, it looks like a 2010 Mustang

from the front ,kinda likea Charger/Challenger.

It has the option of a V-6 and V-8 , GM stated, if this fails to kick off, they will never make it again. So besides looking at this car as a competitor, look at it as another great Muscle Car still around, even though you might say its ugly lol.

loadMasthead("mid0000000");

The only thing I hope, is that GM stops using that thin crappy wiring, poor cheap connectors, and tiny bolts and studs that rust and snap.

my thought:

your vehicle naming has as much creativity as 'rustang'. except rustang fits better.
