Default a Jeep?

Ive been thinking lately, im not happy with mith 2000 ford ranger (sounds) ne more, im not happy with my 5.0 ne more (performance). I always wanted an off roading vehicle with rams bars and wenches and a but load of needless lights. Im thinking mb a stick shift jeep. good gas mileage and i get a vehicle thats stick still. whats crazy is there still really high priced vehicles, they really hold there value. If i sold both my cars thats like 9k, and 9k 2wards a jeep only gets me one thats mb 99 or 2000 with like 80k miles already. do they have reliable long lasting engines? Just airing out my thoughts, if any of u wankers have a jeep wrangler, let me know how u like it?

are you looking at the old TJ?? the old 4.0 straight 6 in the TJ is pretty much a tank, they are very reliable. iirc after 1998 they had a 6 speed, before it was a 5.

our jeep has 150k miles with little problems like interoir wear and some engine leaks.

We just sold our jeep It was a 98 cherikee sport 4.0 straight 6. Yes those things are ****in tanks. Sure little things go wronge like air conditioning broke, trunk latch, and it had a bent frame from an accident. But with all of that it had 150K + miles on it and NEVER had a problem with the engine. When my parents took it for a tune up they told us that it would easily go past 200K without any problems.

For off-roading i would either buy one of these or get a similar year wrangler with a lift, and off-road tires, and no doors of coarse... those are awsome.

former jeep builder and owner. good gas milage is not condusive to the jeep lifestyle. lol
remember what jeep stands for= Just Empty Every Pocket. you'llgo broke if you wanna modify it. lol been there done that.
but if i was going to get another jeep i would get an LJ. but not the rubicon. the only good thing about the rubi's is the selectablelockers that come stock. and they aren't really that strong. with the LJ you get a longer wheel base and more room inside. deff get the 6cyl not the 4. and if your gonna modify it i.e. stronger axles, gears, better cage, winch, off road lights and other stuff. you save money getting an x or sport model over a rubi. just my .02

will...

I have an XJ ('97 Cherokee Sport), and for the most part it has been very good to me. The only problems I've had are the suspension (apparently it doesn't take too well to being jumped off a sand dune at 40 miles an hour) and the bolt holding the starter motor to the engine block worked itself out somehow so I had to get a new bolt and coated that bitch with lock-tite.

I've got an 89 wrangler with over 200,000 miles on it and still runs strong. Like stated above you should rethink the good gas mileage.

well im not gunna get into that deep with offroading, not rock climbing or anything. looking at a wrangler, what are the diffrences between unlimited, sahara, and rubicon in comparison, and of course id get the 6 over the 4
