Default X Pipe and Header question

Hey guys,

I'm looking to complete my exhaust setup and I really want to do some headers plus an X pipe. Now my question involving the X pipe is. Simply, Which one should I get? I don't want my check engine light on all the time, so i've kind of distanced myself from the idea of getting an o/r H pipe. And then my question is much similar with headers. I don't really know which setup to run with my SLP Loudmouths. I want it to be much louder, I don't even know if I should expect any gains?

And my last question is this, If I were to get an o/r H pipe. What is the process involved in taking the pipe off every time I get my car inspected?? Is there cutting and welding involved? Or is it all just bolt on?

Thanks in advance!

Default RE: X Pipe and Header question

depending on which set up you go with, itll be bolt on. Most of the aftermarket exhaust systems for Mustangs are bolt ons and I personally beleive its for that reason lol

You can tune the rear O2s out with an SCT XCAL3 or XCAL2 and also gain more power with the tune from the exhaust change...

Normally brands like BBK, Kooks, MAC, SLP, and Hooker are all very respectable in exhaust applications. Its all a matter of preference and money.

Thanks for your response,

I forgot to mention that I will be doing an SCT Tune from brenspeed with the C&L Intake. I'll be doing mostly all my mods together this fall when I put the car away. But you're saying that the tune will make it so my check engine light is not on???
