Need HELP fix it ticket, recieved letter missed court?
My friend got a fix it ticket for a head light being out in dec. He fixed it and had a cop sign it off and NEVER mailed it in. The sheriff said to wait for paperwork, nothing arrived. 7 months later tody he recieved a missed court date notice and a 400$ fine and his license is suspended.. How did this happen and what can he do about it?
Please advise. this is in the bay area, CA

hmmm then it might be tough to prove otherwise. if i were him id go to the courthouse and talk to someone there. maybe the judge that hes was scheduled to see for his hearing.

Apparently he did not pay for it or send the write-off in because the sheriff said they would be mailing him something. At least he got a cop to sign it.. not sure if the cop dated it though.

go or call? he never recieved any paperwork..
GO. and tell him to take the letter he just got. if he could remember the name of the officer that signed off on it, all the better

Thank you. He has the letter the officer signed, he just never sent it in.. what a waste of money! 20$ ticket is now a 400+ court fees ticket..
